Default Evo Li-ion/li-poly install question

Instead of unsoldering the joints from the stock battery holder, can i cut the wire near the tray and connect the new wires from the remaining stock battery wires?

it should work as long as the factory wires can handle the extra amperes

Its almost exactly the same, unless you have two different guages of wire. You'll just have more wire available to work with, which is a good thing (for me at least.) Just be sure to heat shrink or electrical tape the exposed joints, so you don't short the battery.

Later,

Pretty much the guage of wire just means that more current can go through the wire a 16 guage and 18 guage arent that different to say the truth the 18 guage would be better but its about the same.

Hooked it up and it works. I'm gonna take my soldering iron and put it close to the joint to melt the wires together. Then electrical tape and a lot of fun!
