Default Blowhards

Have you guys ever ran into someone who hyped up their Xmod beyond the realm of believability? I went into a RS the other day just to see what they had in stock and I started talking to the clerk. He was talking about how his Lancer was capable of 50mph+ and went on about how awesome it was.

Eventually he actually brought it out from the back room and I saw that he had RS rechargable batteries in it. Now I am no expert but from what I have read there is NO WAY he achieved that with those (as far as my experience goes) crap batteries.

Anyways, I just chuckled to myself and complimented him on it's appearance (it was flat black, which I always approve of) and purchased an extra Mustang body kit.

So, anyone else have any "blowhard" stories?

Of course it could go that fast with those parts, here`s what you do you put those parts on then while it`s driving you hit it in the back with a deadhead sledge hammer and it will literally fly that fast lol

yeah. these rs employees are WAY past insanity. The fastest xmods can only go 45-55mph(unless it's a purely dyno car that can go 60+)

THEY ARE CRAAAAZZZZY

PM me on your opinions of the Pro-Pulse.

Anyway, I don't have any stories like that, but I had a problem with the RS guys being such n00bs. I asked for an infrared diode (I was fixing the TV remote) and the stupid n00b gave me an LED...

I seriosly doubt that Viperdouts went 80. I could see 70 but not 80. Mines only going to be doing 60, and thats with 8000kv and a 11.1v Lipo. Like I said, maybe 70 at the most.

Later,

Geez, I think 60 is more than enough! I am curious, would you ever actually drive it around at that speed? I mean if I take even a slight turn too fast with my 7 cell Lancer it goes tumbling and gets all scratched, so I can imagine what would happen to an Xmod that went tumbling doing 60mph.

yea the manager there looks like he is about 25 years old and they get returned xmods with problems and he'll fix them and put all the rs upgrades on them and lets customers drive them outside

I've never met an RS employee who knew anything about or even cared about Xmods....as far as the 80 mph Xmod...I'll believe it when I see it because if your steering goes left or right even a mm your xmod is gone. NOw on the speed checker...i can see speeds above 50mph....but as far as driving you better have that car on a guidwire and a glassy smooth surface.

He gears it higher than most people, so on the dyno it passes 60mph on HALF throttle. Full throttle should be good for 80+, again on the dyno. On the road... I don't think he's ever taken it full throttle on the road. He would need an improved steering linkage to make freaking sure the wheels are pointed where he wants them to go... and we need to buy him a pan car body to keep it planted above 45mph.

That said, the RS employees in my area are/were mild Xmod enthusiasts, so that helped me lots when I was still noob.
