Dust on the top of the chassis is entirely normal and to be expected. Every now and then pull the motor out and then remove the shim. You will be able to see your diff gear. Slowly rotate both tires, watching the teeth. A cleaning is only required if you see alot of dirt in the teeth and/or it feels gritty and has lost acceleration. The easiest way to clean them is to disassemble the entire rear drivetrain and soak it, minus motor, in a bowl of dish soap and water overnight. Dry them, relube them with a light grease and reassemble and it should run fine. If you run into trouble doing so, post here instead of returning it and someone will be glad to help you.

I run mine in the dirt all the time with no ill effects. As long as the electronics stay dry and free of conductive debris, the truck doesnt really care what I decide to run it through. I keep my drivetrain as clean as I can while doing this. Mine still runs just fine, tho it is starting to get a little noisy...

I use wet and dry toothbrushes and paint brushes to clean mine...I'll take all the non electronic components apart and soak em in soapy water and let em dry for a day, then put it all back together.

A little dirt never hurt anyone, try using a can of compressed air for quick touches.

Just use the air gun attachment on your air compressor... If you don't have something to adequately clean your chassis, you shouldn't be getting it dirty in the first place...
