my corvette bodies

i now have 3 corvette bodies as of thursday. i bought 2 of them from radioshack through RSU on monday and picked them up thursday, they're not 100% perfect, but they're close enough for me. one of them will stay the stock color, but will be modified to fit my evo chassis like my blue body is (lots of modification to drop weight as well). the other body will have the some modifications, but will be painted candy apple red metallic. i will also be getting another "beater body" corvette as well which i will most likely paint black and convert to a targa top due to the fact that someone has already started the process.

here is a picture of my 3 bodies right now, the one that is taken apart is getting ready to be modifed to fit the evo chassis

nice vettes! candy apple red would be sweet although my favorite color for a vette would be chevy's Torch Red, my dad had a red one a year ago.

Its been a long time since I've seen the Vette body... What wheelbase are they supposed to be on, anyway?

the other vette body im getting might be a salvage depending on how bad it is, i already know its gonna be made into a targa top which i've wanted to do for a while now, but i really need a true beater body for what i have in store for the electronics in case i hit a wall or something

the chassis is the long one for the gen 1 and the short one for the evo like the scion and firebird length

someday I plan on making a Cobra, 65 and 05 mustangs convertibles. I work in a metal shop now so metal is readily availible.

nice, im not making a full blown convertible because it would leave a HUGE opening over the electronics and i would have to fabricate a new rear mount, so im gonna stuck with the targa top which will acualy be better for a race body because it will be lighter, have better airflow over the electronics, cool off the motor better, and look cooler

like yours mine is a work in progress but its after my shelby gt 500, my 78 trans am Smokey and the bandit car. It will be a while till I am ready to work on them.

RSU is radioshack unlimited, you can special order certain parts for the cars like just the bodies theres a whole list of part numbers on XMW

it was 25 for both bodies shipped to the store, 10 per body +shipping i believe

im not sure how much an evo8 body is, and i cant check it right now cuz my internet sucks here at the house, but i seem to recall it being like 15 bucks, idk i'll look it up and get you the part number when i get a better connection. this ne isnt even letting me post pictures
