save yourself the frustration and utter fail. sabine is a professional. you just learned to drive, what? this year? 1 year ago?
don't kid yourself. it's not just adding struts. a racing vehicle has to be light, you have to know exactly where the stress points will be, were you mount stuff, pumps, timing chains and belts, it's really dam expensive. a dedicated racing vehicle costs a lot, since you'll have to pick and chose high quality parts to be competitive, not random parts from a junkyard. don't do it. it's not worth it. get a caterham as previously stated, build it right, learn to drive. spinning out is part of learning to race. nobody lears to race without many spinouts on the way. and in a transit, you're going to be flipping out instead of spinning out. and you only got 1 shot with that.

i wasen't saying i was a professional.
i dont have a licence but know how to drive. on my work experience it was wicked we were suppost to do house removals which we did do but we went to the land fill alot and drove the vans in there, thats when i was 14 and drove on streets too and police never stopped us. i know what im doing as i said iv just finished my ND in mechanics but its not just engine work, it focus' on vehicle structure and race vehicle structure and basicly all round car mechanics. |

So you think because you know how to drive you can race? If your really up for it don't build a transit. Yeah it may be unique but if you roll it, your pretty much stuffed. Just get a Caterham and build it, and then learn the car, and maybe it could happen. If you wanna stay with the transit idea, no one can stop you. Just pointless tbh.

seriously pointless to use a transit. i probably know more about a serious swap like this than you do.
there's a difference between knowing and bein able to do something. just cuz you know how race driving works doesn't mean you are able to just strap yourself in and race. jus cuz you think you know how to put a mid mounted v8 into a transit doesn't mean you are able to. and besides that, a custom transmission will have to be made so you can actually shift because the engine will be from a FR car, meaning the transmission attatched won't work. the transmission will have to extend from the middle/rear to the front, next to your seat, and the diff in the back along with the driveshaft and halfshafts will have to be custom to deliver power to the rear wheels. might as well go buy a used porsche and rip it apart.
