Default Genvo Origins: the spark of life

Genvo. what is it? it's the offspring of an evo and a gen1, producing a powerful combo, a 1-2 punch, of responsive circuitry and symmetrical chassis.

what started off life as a normal short chassis gen1 was set to the long position and gutted of its electronics, waiting for the fateful day when it would rise again...and it has. in the mail, the gods of RSU sent an evo EP and a long driveshaft. and it awakened.

deep inside its sinister blue visage beats the heart of a champion, efficient, and deadly.

so, the beast has arrived.

I'd like to thank Kaze, Dontspamme, Skysthelimit, xmods4life(inspired me to use a subaru), and Deckerz(he was the first evo-gen1 hybrid person) for inspiration on this project.

to be continued...

it drives well. the steering is even on both sides, the responsivness has gone up so much from a regular gen1. there's just more power available, and the steering is lighting fast too.

the servo wiring took a few tries to get them in the right order, but now they're in the right order, so no problems.
red wire goes on the center pad is all you need to really remember. if you solder on the other two wrong, then just switch them around to fix it.
it's a rather simple swap. just gotta find the correct positioning so it'll fit with room to spare in a bodyshell. it fits in my R34 body, so it's safe to say that most bodies will be able to fit this mod.

Interesting concept, along with a good write-up! If you don't mind me asking, how much is an EP through RSU?

it's 14.9x USD. shipping is 5 bucks though, so if you're purchasing, purchase a lot of parts instead of just one or two.

the pipe is antenna tube inside a drilled out papermate Energize mechanical pencil eraser cap. then a paperclip inside the exhaust pipe to screw onto the body.

hopefully i can get a wiring diagram or evo board swap tut sometime next week written up.

keep in mind, i'm not the first to do any of these mods. i'm just the first to put them in combination.

Looking good however I'd argue that deckerz wasn't the first person to do a gen1-evo hybrid...

I did this a few years ago and even then someone else provided the the wiring diagram...

Anyways as I said looking good....
