not sure what you were using in your flex shaft, but maybe speedo cable will work too

i really like the way you put those batteries there going to look just like cargo in the back ..
maybe you should print out a sticker graphic (if you can) of some rope, or rock climbing gear or something cool that you can throw over cf or lexan to cover the battery look.
maybe even paint or make the batteries look like something other than batteries in the back. you can probably make the wires look like rope.

The COG is gonna be so rediculously high it'll be completely unpredictable.

Wow very unique crawler.
But may I suggest to put the battery pack on the cf plate and the ep on them. it'll lower the COG efficiently and you could shave somemore of the inside of the jeep so it could sit lower to the ground.

I was thinking maybe he could do a two-deck chassis, and put the electronics between them.

The whole point of this chassis is for ground clearance. Im not trying to lower anything, i'm raising it. It is gonna be fine as a crawler. I have been driving it without any thing more then a stage 2 motor around and it has no flipping problems so far. Also I did a double deck, lol, Ill have pictures up in a few minutes. I might re-post them on this same post so check.

c1v1c: i like that idea for the cog i fully agree.
xkid: i also agree with you and think he should do a double deck, but maybe put the batts between them and the servo but not the board
EDIT: i think he should leave them where they are i examined it more and disregard my previous statements that is not what i think anymore. i think it will be best where it is.

Thanks for the input guys, but this truck is a crawler which will be slow and have alot of torque, It's not a race car going lightning fast with fet stack and everything. So anyway Im raising it as high as possible to get as much clearance and articulation as possible. As it stands now it is very stable, no problems. I said I would post pictures of the double deck, but I think you'll be dissappointed because its higher then before, not underneath. LOL. I hope you are cool with that guys.

I guess I can finally start the hard part, the gearing and motor/servo in the rear.

I don't want to, but Im having trouble finding a set of swampers or anything soft and lite that don't look stupid (like lego tires). Any links or suggestions are welcome.

I don't really use ebay anymore because I got ripped off twice, one was junk the other never arrived. If you or someone else gets these or has some on hand, ill pay $10.00 over what you paid. Also, are the swampers as softand light as everyone says they are.

Have you been driving it on off-camber rocks and actual crawling areas or your carpet? The lower the COG, the more of an angle the car can go on the rocks. If you keep it how it is, once you put it on any moderate incline, it'll flip instantly.

Edit:

Anything this extreme on rocks will make it flip, I'm pretty much insisting at this point to lower the electronics.

Edit #2:
Your clearance is limited by the driveshaft. Utilize the space between that and the bottom of the chassis plate and stick your batteries in there.

Yes I have, and it seems fine. I haven't had it flip yet except for normal situations.

Since when was crawling classified as "normal situations"?

The COG is real high, if your going to mod this car that much, and put this much money in to it, just don't stop, go the full 9 yards. Try to lower it, it'll help.

So far great job, I don't know what your job is, but I sure as hell want to hear your wifes opinion

Awesome chassis once again.

the super swampers really are soft and light.

You really should think of what xmodkidd is saying the batteries abouve the drive shaft is a great idea. putting some pine car/fishing weights as low as you can in the front and rear without limiting ground clearance or rubbing issues is also a good option.

You are doing very well. the chassis is top notch. Keep it up.

Thanks!

XXX, the swampers are probably twice as soft as the IROKS you have on there now, that helps a lot when you're looking for any grip you can get on the rocks.

Cool thanks guys. I will take all this into consideration. What I meant by Normal situation was like 90 degree inlcine where it flipped backwards or somthing, Of course I haven't put the more torque mod to the motor yet (Servo swap). I hope the Swampers are as soft and lite as you guys say because I want these Iroks off, they're so hard and heavy.
