looks cool. i like those tires.
i was thinking of making a buggy with my truck that had widened dogbones and a-arms(made of brass from my LHS) but it seemed like too much work. and besides i need to go buy myself a new ep >.< hope to see more progress. btw, how well does the supercharger pod work? i'd love to see the thing flying over sand dunes. lol make a sand track in your backyard.

for loose sand you would actually be doing better to use your first set of leggo tires.
the second set looks to have better grip but they're skinnier. the wider tires would keep you ontop of the sand instead of digging into it. when you dig in with skinny tires, your chassis digs and then your putting more strain on your chassis if you dont get stuck. if you were so inclined, you could make some small paddles to insert into the wider tires to help with traction. sand tires work by keeping the majority of the actual tire ontop of the sand and the paddles are what penetrate the surface for traction. the paddles are curved to optimize drag the same way your hands work when swimming. if you had 3 more arms on each side and could spin them at 20,000RPM,you would literally skim the surface of the water instead of sinking in..... overall it looks great! other then the wheels,i would'nt change a thing Last edited by bondo; 08-05-2008 at 08:00 AM.. |
