Yes one more thing, getting rid of the extra weight by ditching the gen1 driveshaft when it's on RWD.

i like the idea of cf parts such as a-arms, motor pod, ect. they are strong and way lighter than alloy. i think they would sell fast.

This is probably a very do able mod. They have one now for the Mini-Z. Someone should start some experimenting with this one. Maybe using some lexan and CF to start. Just make the base that screws to the Xmod, which is generally the same on all Xmod clips. Then make Lexan shims that you can stack for different height, just like the Mini-Z version.

I definately want one of those. I got that one that was sold on ebay "Mud slinging crawler motor" but Im not familiar with DIYtuners drop in. Who should we present this to... I haven't seen Redsxmodder on in awhile and Im not sure who else specializes in motors.

Definatly a good Idea. On a small scale between members of the forum... I don't know about mass producing anything would be worth while. but a good Idea. We have been making CF parts (chassis, spacers..etc.) for awhile. Let's step outta the box and make a new part. I did just make the double CF arm for the Tatra, but it was just layed over a stock one.

I like this one a lot actually. It should be pretty simple if what Im imagining in my head would work. I am going to take a stab at this. Someone else should as well.

Lipo-mounting is actually very simple, remove the battery trays and double sided tape the Lipos on the sides.. works great. A solid chassis from CF has been done. Im not sure where to take these ideas for a GEN1 unless your saying to re-do them or somthing.

** All in all great sparks are flying. We should all take these ideas a bit further and see what we could do. My 3 favorites so far are... *adjustable Xtruck spacer, *Universal front body clip, *MA010 Knuckle adapter. What do you guys think.

The current Lipo config on the gen 1 is terrible, higher COG. I need a solid chassis, the 2 part chassis isn't doing it for me.

The drop in crawler motor was actually a small motor in the can and a bunch of gears inside. So pretty much a gear reduction unit and motor all in one lol.

what about mounts that take a autoscale (miniz body) that adapts it to work with xmods. like it would mount onto the body with out any glueing or custom work. Pretty much a adapter that goes onto the standard mounting system but allows it to work with the xmods.

Maybe if you have access to a cnc machine make a alloy truck lift kit. Or make one from cf

A rally kit for cars. It would have a custom lift parts that would lift it more than the lift kit parts. and it would have a bottom skid plate.

how a bout a 1 click/slide way to lift/lower a truck body(body only) for ground clearance.. but a 1 click/slide for lifting the chassis up would be AWESOME

Not trying to keep secrets here, that's the point. Some great ideas with body mounting. You should come up with an idea for a quick up down for body lifting.

I did get some inspiration and as soon as I got home from Skateland I started working on the adjustable truck spacer. For now it isn't really a standalone spacer. It is more like an extender, but it's a start. If you have a spacer (Perferably the Small Hummer one) you can literally extend the spacer as far out as you needed to fit a 1:28 Truck body. I will continue to work on it to make it a stand alone, where you wouldn't need an actual stock spacer to use it. My Camera battery is charging, but Ill post a photo in just a few once the battery has a little power.

If you like one of the ideas, starting mocking somthing up and post a photo. Then we can all comment and work towards making it a perfect part.

there was 2 versioins of the diy crawler motor, both drop in, 1 of them was a bit taller so it came with some spacers to put the motor cover on with, but it still needed no cradle mods. and the other was a 130 motor can with a small servo type gearbox that was self contained mounted inside of it. i can get pics of both of them if needed. the first gen would be easier to replicate than the second. the second one has the can sealed with epoxy, and im not going to risk damaging it pulling it apart. but it would be a good reference pic.

Do you know where there are some photos of them?

Here is the Xtruck extender, so far.

The 2 plates that are the same, 1 mounts to the spacer and the other the threar pod.. the one in the middle is the spacers, and you could put as many as you needed to get the length you needed. each spacer is 1.5mm.

First screw the back plate to the rear pod, and slide the 2 long RS 2/56 screws in the center holes. Then slide on as many spacers as needed.

Then slide on the cap plate, and screw togther with the 2 hex nuts.

The the spacer screws to that.

Any suggestions or comments.

I couldn't find the good one but i think they used these to make the second gen1 crawler motor.

http://www.allproducts.com/manufactu.../product1.html

You need a 2mm output drive shaft in order to fit the gear but like i said, i couldn't find it.
