Rhetorical question... if your servo wires are cut, can your servo work?

The 3 other wires go to the POT,it makes the servo turn left or right, the white and black is for the - and + battery parts..

3 wires are for the POT ur right but it makes it centered. Black and white wires IS for the motor and makes it go right and left.

If ur gonna put an hobby grade servo on the evo board, You can just get Some other wires for it. no need of the stock xmods wire.
And btw when u do hobby grade servo, U gotta remove the servo esc.
and connect each pot and motor wire respectively on the board itself.

You need all of the wires to be connected to the electronics board if you want any sort of response from your steering system. Even when upgrading to a hobby grade servo, those three POT wires need to be attached to the POT terminals on the electronics board. Also, the positive and negative motor wires have to be connected to the servo motor's positive and negative terminals on the electronics board; otherwise nothing will turn or be powered in the correct direction.

I believe this is what you were getting at?

How so? The more questions you ask, the more your will know as well as members who also check this thread. Maybe your questions will answer others questions as well.
