Another nitro truck question...
Ok, I've been looking around lately and I think I've narrowed my options down to two different trucks, Because I have heard good and only good things about both of them.
Here are the trucks: Team Losi Aftershock: http://h1069823.hobbyshopnow.com/pro...?prod=LOSB0012 Traxxas Revo 2.5: http://h1069823.hobbyshopnow.com/pro...p?prod=TRA5310 I'm torn between both of them, as I've heard they both make good entry level monster trucks (with a little practice). I like the fact that the Losi has a big-block engine and MASSIVE shocks, but I also like the suspension setup on the Revo. I like the setup on the Revo, but the Losi looks like one hella-nice truck. Anybody got any suggestions? I'm kind of leaning toward the Losi (one reason is because it's cheaper), but I'm not sure, can you guys help me out here? It would be appreciated!

Revo ftw. Im a Traxxas guy and there is a bunch of parts and upgrades that can be done to that Revo.

Lol, it's traxxas, not traxx or traxxes. Every RC that i've owned has been a traxxas. I myself have owned a Revo 2.5 and I for one don't like nitro. I love to drive them, but they're a pain in the *** to maintain and buy fuel for. Nitro is around $30/gallon and you'll have to buy glow plugs every so many weeks ($2.50/per) and they're loud, so if you have neighbors thats a downside. Save some money and buy an emaxx or e-savage/e-zilla. Same amount of fun and cheaper to maintain in the long haul. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, the revo sounds nice, but how is the hill-climbing ability, being a small block?
There's a lot of steep hills around my hills I'd like to use it on. EDIT: well, as far as electric trucks, how the E-MAXX run? *ahem, VGCaged-Emaxx*

I love her, she runs around 25+mph, 4wd and has massive amounts of torque. The downside is that it takes two 7.2v packs to power it, but all the more power. Like I said in the other post, it's worth it in the long run. As for hill-climbing ability, it's ok for hill-climbing but it's got too much power for it, it just flips over.

i'm into nitro trucks a lot, and i personally would get the losi because it seems more appealing, its got a two speed, big block engine, and a bigger gas tank. if you cant choose, get a Xtm X-cellerator!!
but if this is your first nitro, get the traxxas, theyre one of the easiest trucks to use

I just watched a video of a stock T-maxx and a stock E-maxx play Tug O' War. What amazed me is that the E-maxx owned the T-maxx. Thanks for suggesting the E-maxx, VGCaged_Emaxx, now I think that's what I'll be getting, after seeing that things brutal torque.

Cool, Good choice!!! The reason the e-maxx pwned the t-maxx in the pull was because the t-max is heavier and it's not made to have as much torque as the 550 motors in the e-maxx put out. I suggest if you get the e-maxx, save up and get a good set of GP or IB packs for longer runtimes, more power and speed.

Well, actually, on the site I saw that reviewed them, a fully loaded e-maxx wighed more than a fully loaded t-maxx. (E-maxx, about 10.5 lbs, and a T-maxx, about 8.4 or something). They said the reason the E-maxx beat the T-maxx was because the dual 550's get up to speed instantly, while the t-maxx needs a few feet or so to spool up, so the E-maxx was able to beat the T-maxx (in first gear, of course). Plus, the extra weight probably helped a little in traction, too.

I just had one more question:
would this battery work well in the E-maxx? http://www.boomboombatteries.com/Pro...Code=4200%5FBP

Yes, that would work wonderfully. That's one of the highest Mah rating packs you can get (besides 4600's) and those will probably give you a 15-20 minute run time on each charge.

Thanks for all the help, V. I think I'll be getting an E-MAXX now.
But, one more thing. When you say it flips over backwards when hill-climbing from too much power, that's in stock mode, right?

Well.....Pretty much any motor or anything you do to it won't help with the flipping over part. You might be able to gear it a certain way to not pull up on the front tires when you hit the throttle, but i've never experimented with gearing in mine, i like the stock gearing for some pretty wicked wheelies. You can probably prevent flipping over if you just lean into the throttle while you're climbing. If you nail it at the very beginning, you're definately gonna flip. BTW, and questions you have, just ask. I know alot about my truck. My email is at [email protected] too. Good luck with your new e-maxx!
