It depends on your driving skill and your car too, not just parts. I can drift with my Evo VIII using the stock rubber tires. Not big professional-looking drifts, but I can drift believe it or not. Just try to get the hang of your car and really learn how to drive it.

Once you get the hang of driving the thing, I would pick up an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) kit, and the drift kit. If you want, you could also get a set of stage 1/stage 2 engines, which will both give you a drift engine. It basically gives more accelleration and less top speed, which is what you want to drift. The Drift Engine upgrade isn't necessary but it would help if you want to drift better. If you get the drift kit though, you will need the AWD kit too, otherwise you'll just do donuts and slide around in circles. Hope this helped. PM me if you have any questions.

Gen 1 cars aren't going to drift without some modification, but Evolution Xmods will drift right out of the box on a smooth surface, like tile or hard wood or smooth concrete.

I find it easy to drift with hard slicks. You can try that. Drifting is pretty hard.

In my experience, they will skid on carpet or black top, but when I took it to the mall and drove it on a smooth, waxed tile surface, my Evo VIII was drifting.

I also heard of a cheap way to do it. Put electrical tape on your tires and you'll be skidding in no time.

But some people consider that cheating.

Well I have some sweet model tires on my mustang(65') they are bigger in the rear (of course) I also have the stock parts on (no customization yet except the suspension, steering and rims ) All you need is very greasy tires in the rear and you will do 180' or drift turns if your really good! But the thing is with the model tires you need to have your lock on in the rear but the rear not attached so the tires dont rub or you can just put on smaller tires or put water/ grease/ lubricant on the floor (hopefully tile or wood or kitchen lynolium) Then your rear end would slip and slide but like I was doing burnout's today with my mustang and well you can say that my mom got mad because there was black marks on the floor (but no smoke ) but ya when I would slid it was pretty sweet

also you can take off the tires in the back of your car (but then your car will barely move :P

I discovered that I am a very good drifter...but i also have a lot of power in my mustang...i have a six cell and all wheel drive...hard slicks and it runs great...i also have a custom engine from my own discovery...if any of you have formula fuelers from a awile ago...or a little cousin or something has one...open it up and take out that engine...it works excellent in overall performance...better then the motor upgrade..the stage three they call it

yes those are them...you just have to modify the wires on the motor a little bit to get the conductors on it...but if you don't have an xmod evolution the engine won't work because the gears from the gen 1 motors don't come off, so you can't use it..sorry
