hahaha.....a cowl....sooo far from the look I want. besides, I already went to a ton of work to get the hood smooth and level.

coat one of paint. needs a light sanding and another coat, or 2....but I put the pieces back in their place and put it on the chassis for a few glamour shots. As you can see, I decided on a lighter blue than I had origionally intended, but I like it just as much.

when it's all done I'll glue the grill on, and then I can glue the hood on, then it won't have that gap. I'm also going to find some material for the side windows, and paint them gloss black too.

well, while all you people are happily asleep. I finished the truck!!! a sanding, and a second coat of paint, also painted the headlights/turn signals.




Check out the grill, complete with gold bowtie!


now, if only that trailer would get here, then I can make a hitch, and this'll be done!

so....what do you guys think.....should I put the black 'Chevrolet' on silver strip decal on the tailgate?
I took a picture of the decal sheet, and photoshopped it on the tailgate....it would look something like this:

that is by far the most real looking truck i have seen. the custom bumper and the roll bar on top of the cover looks sooooooo good. i wish i had some more creativity and some $$ so i wouldnt be afraid to try some things.

actually, the roll bar makes it look so much better, because it distracts you from the mistakes on the back of the cab


just a little recommendation for anyone else interested in doing something like this. It's really not that hard, you just need to be real patient. And when you go out to buy a model to start with. Get the AMT Ertl Level 2 ones. The level 1 (no paint or glue required) ones look like crap. And the Revell brand ones are usually very badly made. part of why this one looks so good is the kit was awesome to begin with!!

OH yea.....I didn't show you guys the hummer.....the wheels arent the only thing that got painted black....but that's for it's own thread

anyway, it's a gorgeous day outside, so I took it out, and took a pic of it in natural light on my sidewalk:


if the headlights looked real, and the drivetrain wasn't completely wrong, this could be mistaken for a real truck!

I thought about lifting it, and I held the swampers from the hummer up to it, and they'd look sooo sweet. but this is the tow rig. it's designed to look like a relatively stock 2WD pickup. the actual trailer queen has barely begun.....hehehe
