Default 'jeep Wrangler Off Roader' My Idea First!!

ok so this is wat im thinking. take an xmod truck chasis and make it as short as possible. put some 2" - 2 1/2" tires on this baby, articulation mod, but so that it doesn't go all the way around and touch the body when offroadin. low gear ratio, high speed, high torque motor, all alm parts, 4wd, poly liths or li-ion, stacked fets -whoa nelly board or v2 board, lift kit, and find a mini-z wrangler body painted yellow with chrome roll cage and trim.

this is for all of you to use, but please remember i thought of it, so if you beat me to making this(which you prbably will, since i have almost no money) don't take all of the credit.

aren't i a genious?!?!?! lol

check out www.teampureadrenaline.com/rig this is a cool vehicle!

and open diffs?!

lol, mall crawler!!

articulation is plenty as-is, just need locked diffs.

the hummer is almost too short to remain stable, I've had mine roll over backwards on the steep stuff before it loses traction. But I have gotten it high-centered. I think an F150 chassis with shortened, or eliminated, overhangs and relocated battery holder (for better clearance in the middle) would be much more capable.

ALL alloy parts wouldn't be entirely necessary. in fact, I think if you intend to go with tires that big, skip the lift, and then alloy axles and stubs are available, and easily usable. it's the same as lifting a subaru (I've got 2...), the axles are the weak point, and if you start doing suspension lifts, you comprimise the axles strength.

I'm working on my own plans to make the suspension more flexy, but without compromising ground clearance, or durability. but more on that later

A hyper-torque 180 motor and lower gears (working on that too) is more than enough power. no FET's really necessary.

thinking up a plan is one thing....doing it is a completely different one

but you thought of the idea first

you're idea sounds awesome on paper, just like a jeep on 40" tires.....but the fact of the matter is, jeep has never made an axle that's strong enought to turn 40s, it'd break stuff backing out of the garage....

just noticed the link you posted...notice, that jeep's wheelbase has been LENGTHENED....and there isn't much jeep left in that

I've got a tut up in the how-to section on how I locked my diffs....but it sounds like there may be an easier way.

what are you talking about, I barely took any material off the body!!

here's a real jeep. a buddy of mine:
http://www.roughcountry.com/Graphics..._Commanche.jpg

and the fact that you put this in the 'appearance' section says alot about where your intentions lie.....lol

im not quite sure on how to go about an xmod for
a crawler but....

- If you could try to seperate both front & rear axles
and customize links from the chassis to a 4-link post mount.
This will give you maximum articulation in the axles. Then off
of each lower link set a shock to the chassis.

I made a 1:8th scale Clodcrawler awhile back and now
you guys have me going on building myself an XCrawler....roflmao

thnx man but that went over my head give me some help why don't yah, cause you obviously have some exp. with this.

ok i just bought the xmods truckin f 150. i love this thing!! it goes faster than my mustang 06 with custom frankenstein sb motor.(wich really sucks anyways!) i got the truck at radio shack for like 50 bucks bc it was on sale. then i bought the awd for it, so then the price ended up coming around the normal price of the truck. like i said i love it !!!! right now on ebay looking at a new motor case for about $10, with neo mags i believe. am getting a lith pack with motor wire upgrades and charger for $20, that's right! $20.00!!!!! it is from jawdropracing.com. also on the way is a 2x2 stacked fet circuit board with 18 power wire upgrade and servo attached for like $30. im gettng it to fix my mustang, bc as you all have probably seen already, i fried the board!! rotflmao, but hopefully i get the stuff in time.
also, can i have the monster truck tires from numbchux, or who else that bought the monster truck kit that said i had first dibs if they sold it.

by the way i found wheels that were 4" tall and 2 wide, i tried puting them on the truck but it rubbed on the chassis when it turned, so i don't think ill use those. i got them to mount right, so they fit on the rear just fine but the front don't let it turn.
so i still need big arsch weels but not to big arsch

GERMAN 101: ARSCH MEANS A$$
OK KIDS NOW CHECK BACK NEXT TIME FOR SOME MORE FUN EDUCATIONAL LEARNING!!

sounds like a sweet setup, but why an f150? the appeal of a wranger is it's short wheelbase....

also...get yourself some bearings!
