Default Acer's new Nissan GT-R

My wife needed to go to the mall tonight so I decided to tag along and check out the local "Shack"
Since Xmods are on clearance for just $25 I couldn't resist picking up another one.........................

Sorry I had to take a pic with the cheap camera, but I'm sure you've all seen the stock GT-R at least 100 times before.
I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do with it, but I have a few bodies to work on first so I'm in no rush anyways.
I'm just glad that this one actually has the clear window instead of the traditional Xmods black painted windows.
This one definitely needs to be lowered though (just like the rest of the Xmod bodies )

I'm not sure if it's just me, or do the tires look kinda small/ dis proportionate perhaps? Other than that, looks good!

Since the body sits so high on the stock Xmods, it does seem like the wheels look too small.
I took that pic as soon as I got it out of the box and got the wheels on, since then I've been tinkering with the ride height, stance, and I've even been trying on different rims.
I'll get a new pic with my good camera as soon as I'm done tinkering.
Paint will be in the future.

1. I did that the night I got it(shortly after I took the pic )
2. No spacers, but i did shim the wheels with some small washers, right after I installed bearings. That cut down with the front end slop, but I might still have a few tricks up my sleeve.
3. I already ripped out the stock pcb in preparing to install a spare Micro-T pcb.
4. unfortunately I don't know any noobs with GPM Xmods, but this will go nicely with my other Z-mod and miniZ collection.

My AWD kit is going in it too.
My weekend was busy so I haven't had the time to finish "tuning it up" but I might get it done tonight.

5. No idea about color yet, I kind of like the silver but it is definitely a little plain.
I'll get some pics soon.

How about that red with racing decal Skyline from the Realdrive series? It would be nice to see an XMODS version of that.

First the performance and handling................

I have the micro-T PCB installed and I got some pics.

I also lowered the front clip by doing a little filing and used a plastic clip from a bread bag on the clip and also used a piece of it to also shim the steering plate.

Here is a side pic of the front clip. You can see where I glued the plastic from the bread tie on the bottom of the clip.

Now the body is sitting lower and all the shimming has removed most of the slop in the wheels and steering.

Thanks for explaining it for me.

I have the AWD kit installed now, and I'll probably add a Stage 2 motor with neodymium magnets to make up for the extra drag and weight of the AWD.
I could probably get away with a hotter motor but I'm trying to avoid the pesky "thermal shutdown" associated with the Micro-T PCB.

Thanks, I should have explained that part too.
I actually used a dremel with a cut-off wheel then neatened it up a bit with a hobby file.
I wouldn't mind getting it a bit lower but I don't want any clearance issues when the suspension is fully compressed.
I'll take a pic of the body tomorrow. I was going to wait till it was painted but that might take a little while.

RCXmini had some aluminum pieces for pretty cheap, so I have a few things on the way. Unfortunately it could take a while since it's coming from Hong Kong.
Normally I don't like to really way a car down with GPM, and I don't like to spend a ton of money on my Xmods, so I definitely wont get too carried away here.

It's not even close to being as low as my Camaro, but I think it sits low enough.
I also think it looks much better than the stock stance.
I never could figure out why they always make the bodies sit so high on the chassis. Some bodies are worse than others but they all sit a little too high in my opinion.
I'm still not sure which wheels will stay on this one. These look OK I guess, but I might try my 18 pole GPM wheels on it next. I already gave the stock wheels to my son for his Civic, so I guess they are out of the question now.
I have a decent collection of wheels but some of them look too small on this car.

I picked up a few GPM aluminum pieces for pretty cheap from RCXmini.
Plus I had some pieces that came from my other Zmod.
Since the Zmod occasionally sees the track, I figured I'd lighten it up a bit and transfer all my aluminum to the new GT-R.

I also added some 10 degree radial tires(for miniZ) on front and back.

I usually use a harder tire in front than in the back, but since the Xmod suffers from severe under-steer compared to the mini-Z(which I'm used to driving) I figured I could use all the traction I could get from the front wheels.

So far this car has................
Micro-T pcb
GPM front shock tower(useless but,I couldn't resist the price)
GPM steering plate
GPM knuckles- front and rear
GPM motor mount/heat sink(I might switch it to a silver one)
GPM rear shocks
3racing 10 degree radials
Xmod AWD kit
Xmod stage 2 motor with neo. magnets

I don't like to drive my mini-Z's off of the track, so this car will suite that purpose. It will mostly be used to blast around the house(as you can see it's already dusty)
Next I'll move on to the body.
Since I'll be driving this, I wont be doing anything drastic.
I'd like to just "dress up" the stock paint just a bit.
I already have a few ideas in mind.
I'm still also thinking about using my silver GPM 18 pole rims on this car, I'm undecided.
