this car looks like its a die cast model! i can't get over it, the body work is seemingly flawless, as is the paint.

Haha, no, the interior won't be that detailed. With the amount of space left , I was thinking just the dash, steering wheel, and roll bar. The "floor" (circuit board over) sits too high to do anything else.

Cut the seats in half to make them fit? You don't need the whole seat to make the interior look good. And if someone is looking that close and they don't like, let's se them do better

Yeah, but I don't want to glue anything down to the circuit board cover; I also use this chassis for my '69 Camaro.

Well, I finally built a grille and got the car pretty much done. Anything else I do will consist of maybe painting the frame and installing performance parts, but the body and cosmetics are done. Finally...project completed.

I followed this build and got one thing to say. You Da Man. That stang is sweet. You really put together a show stopper and should be mighty proud. Your modeling skills have humbled me. Thanks for the pics.

Nice dude, this is a great example of a contest-worthy bodywork.

Love it. I'm a bit of a Stangbanger anyway, so you had my attention from page one. Great year to choose.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. It was definitely a tough build; I didn't realize how much detail there was in this design until I really got into it. I'm not sure I'll be doing another one like this any time soon.

I'll have to get some better pictures posted, without the washout from the flash.

The silver paint is Dupli-Color automotive tough-up paint from Advance Auto Parts, in the smaller spray can. It's "MED. MARBLEHEAD (M)," number DSGM478. Standard black for the stripes, and then clearcoat once the decals were installed.

Thanks for following the thread!

That's beautiful! I saw an Eleanor at a gas statio nearby not too long ago. The only thing I see with it is the big black wheel nuts. But it looks like it was made like that! Nice job!

Ah! The wheel nuts! Forgot about those! Stainless wheel nuts will be a must!

More pictures, without the washout from the flash:

Thanks!

For the grille, I ended up finding some thin styrene strips that I glued onto a flat styrene backing plate. The backing plate is painted black, and the grille bars are chrome silver. The upper and lower grilles are joined together in one piece, and the whole assembly is removable. It's held in place by a a small bracket at the bottom and a screw at the top, accessible after the hood is removed.
