One of the oldest mods in the book but still looks sharp.... however.... if it was me I would sand the ridges down on the inside of the rim so they look a little prettier and then I would paint them black....

Welcome to the site!!!

Welcome to the site! Search around the forum, you will find that there are endless things one can do to his xmod. Enjoy your stay

The rims looks good. Actually B1G, I have seen MANY drifters who have theor wheels STICKING out on purpose. Don't know why though.

Don't get me wrong they look really good and having them sticking out is fine....

It was these ridges that I was referring to:

They are from the molding and don't really look right.... if you sanded them down the rims would look like stock parts...

^^^^^^ yup.
it's an old and cheap trick.
start looking through some of the old projects and pics and you'll find that there isn't a whole lot that you can do that hasn't been done before...atleast not without a substancial budget and a bit of creativity.

it's going to take a bit more then that to impress this crowd.

welcome and don't let the bug bite ya too hard.

Haha, I guess my mod is pretty old And unfortunately, the car doesn't run as smoothly as it used to.

Anyways, about your suggestions:

1. How would I sand down the rims? I can barely fit my finger inside...
2. What kind of paint should I use if I were to paint them black?

1. Dremel would be the easiest option... but you could try either a knife or sandpaper wrapped around a pencil....

2. Any really... you could pick up some testors enamel from your local hobby shop or you could buy a can a black spray paint and do them with that....

From the Skyline or 350Z.

Nice and simple. I like it very much. When your putting or replacing your lugnuts, careful not to tighten it too much, it would cause the wheels not to spin that freely and rob performance.

Better yet, run to your RS and grab a sack of 2-52 hex nuts. These will fit perfectly on your axels, and only cost about 3$ for like 40 of em...

Try putting some kind of masking tape on the axel, a little bit. And then screw in the lug. It will make it hang on tighter. Just remember to cut off the excess tape.
As for them not fitting, sometimes some don't fit. Then you have to re-thread the nut. Grab some pliers, hold an EXTRA hub in it. and force the lug nut on it. That should do the trick.

I don't actually "use" my Xmod anymore. My antenna broke...

But I can tell you that the wheels are a little restricted when it comes to turns. And no, I did not cut mine.
