I put in 8 pics, which is still in the competions rules. photobucket always makes the first picture a link. so i added the same pic that showed up as a link. i have 9 pics now, with one repeated because photobucket makes the first pic a link. Is that okay? if not please tell me and i will delete one.

Photobucket doesn't make the 1st pic a link, the site's software has a problem with the images if you have a space anywhere in the Photobucket link. Say you have an album called "My Pics", since there is a space in the album name, when you put the full link "photobucket.com/texan/my%pics/lol.jpg" the % that takes place of the space in your album name, and for what ever reason, messes with the forum software and it refuses to show a pic. Take the space out of the album name (or use an underscore _) and it no longer does this.
Don't ask me why the site does it, but I've noticed it does this on sites that use this forum software.

Blue504Life -- I need one more picture from you. You're required to supply six pictures when making a submission, I only see five.
Benoj -- Welcome to the competition and welcome back to XMS. Haven't seen you here in a while. Thanks, guys.

Thanks. You're in the competition.
Either take it with the MotoQ or find another camera before the competition is up. Without six pictures your entry is void.

Don't worry, I WILL have a picture before this ends. Not sure if I'll be getting my regular camera back though, so I'll snap one with the Q tonight, or my girls phone.. hers is a little better quality.

That "V6 or smaller is a tuner" rule is bull****. Take in example a 68 corvette, v6. A 69 Camaro, V6. 65 Catalina, V6. 69 Coronet, V4! 69 Nova, V4!
Long story short, I think this rule should be removed. We all know the difference between a Muscle car and a tuner here.

As far as your point on cars, all of those cars save the catalina( I am not sure of) have 8 cylinder counterparts. They may not be that particular trim or year, but the bodystyle did have an eight cylinder variant--therefore they would qualify. The rule in itself was to keep FWD 4 cylinder domestics out of the competition. No VR4 dodge stealths or cavaliers. I am sure that if you even wanted to build a drag spec imitation gremlin or pacer Bondo would more than likely allow it in the competion-although these are subcompacts of their era, the v8 swap is very common place-especially for drag purposes. Try not to over analyze the rules, if you don't like the stipulations set you are not required to compete; wait until the next competition. If you have an entry you are not sure of, send it to a mod and it will be looked over. The point is to have fun. Last edited by Surgeon; 06-25-2008 at 12:33 PM.. |

And the Vette has NEVER had a V6.(Original Vette had a Straight 6 before getting the SBC, but no V6 and certainly not in the 68) 69 Camaro, did not have a V6. (Slant 6) The 69 Catalina was all V8. Coronet, no V6. (Slant 6) Nova, no V4. (Straight 4) You didn't get a single thing right in that entire statement. Before you go and try and waive the rules as BS, and make a fool out of yourself, check your facts and the rules. All of those cars you mentioned are good for the comp.

The 427 is a V8. Only GMC Trucks had large displacement V6s, and they were no HP monsters, purely built for Torque. The Chevy 427, that's a V8. The COPO Camaro (ZL1) came with the L76 427 V8. The Corvette had the L88 427. But the 68 had been made to 454. And none of the cars you mentioned had V6s in the years you gave us. The 3rd Gen F-Body was the only car you mentioned that did eventually have a V6. At a whopping 130 hp.

A 427 c.i V6? I know you're not serious, I KNOW you're not serious. No one can possibly think this is true. A 427 is a BIG BLOCK 8 cylinder engine. And I'm not even sure they were offered with 427's, I think 396's were the biggest Camaros got. I might be wrong, I dont study up on the old Camaros that much. I know Chevelles received 454's though. If it were a V-6, it was not 427 cubic inches. You sir, fail. |
