Ok, in the RC world FF kinda does suck, because you can't use the same techniques as in a real car.
I have experimented with RWD and AWD with my xmod, and have found that even though RWD gives you better speed, but it requires delicate throttle control in the turns. If you're heavy on the "gas" you're better off not using it. AWD gives you a traction advantage off the line, but tends to go under more. I find the car doesn't steer as quickly. It takes more of the servo's energy to turn. It really comes down to preference, and a lot of what I'm saying is from my own personal experience. Results may vary. I think technique is more important than drivetrain layout. |

front wheel drive
Put the 4wd kit in and take the (internal) gears out of the rear diff.
I am working on a new car and I am trying HARD to be patient... http://jpringlephoto.com/EOS1DMKII/pgs/Vette.htm

For RC awd is the best in real cars it is a toss up between RWD and AWD. AWD gives you tons of traction, but RWD can just be alot of plain old fashion fun. Try going sideways in FWD drive.

FWD
for FWD just take the white gear that was in the rear of the car before you put the AWD in. take that gear out and cut all the splins off, so that the gear that drives the front wheel shaft has nothing to spin against. but keeps the proper spacing that you need. i have done this. it works allrite.but still has its problems. AWD is the best though.

i had set up the all wheel drive because my back didnt work.but the all wheel drive sucks it takes to long to get up to speed and it doesnt catch on till you give a little push on back.so dont get it.
