"New XMODS system" per Radioshack email

Contacted RS 2/21/08 and described our concern about Xmods being discontinued or are there any future plans. This is the response I received today.

light on the situation? Is this the end of the Xmods & Radioshack? If
so, is there any insight into where the Xmods line-up may turn-up in the
future.

We appreciate the product and support you have provided throughout the

Not too detailed response, but here's hope there's gonna be new goodies to spend our money on.

As far as we are aware the Gen 2 Evolution line is continuing here in the U.K in it's current format and we are not aware of plans to change the chassis to a Gen 3 model.

yes, I've heard from the Xmodsrc website thats its going to be discontinued but this is a hope. the only way I'd buy one is if it was a M3 or 240SX and can be faster than my scion. tho I only buy when its on clearance anyway.

and by the way it makes sence cause isn't this radioshack's biggest success? probly even exceeds battery sales!

Basicly none of the RS's tell the complete truth,maybe they will get warned if they tell us really whats going on with xmods..

Sometimes the people at radioshack will lie about things to make you happy. about that letter, it seems pretty true. From what I can see, If there is going to be a new line of xmods, It will be completely different. Transformers did make rs lose money because of they are more flimsy than other evo cars and had more returns. I'm hoping they do come out with a new line that is a combo of evo and gen1(good electronics and drivetrain)

Lol radio shack is money hungry, for the most part everything there is overpriced, but they carry stuff others don't not much you can do unless you turn to the internet

Prices went down for CHRISTMAS, as do just about 90% of everything else in the world. And these guys aren't fuggin' Santa Clause either, unlike the magical fat man who has thousands of slavin' elves to fix things in a matter of minutes, it takes RS and it's manufacturer time to retool their production, and get things right, before re-releasing them. If you want to complain about a company that takes poor action when theirs a problem in the product, take a look at your Mustang, and go check up on all the recalls ford has made on cars even 15 years old.

Would you rather them rush it back out and continue to have issues?

Fall!? i want new cars now, screw christmas time release. i wanna see a ZR1 xmod or something like that (at least a c6 vette) chances are they'll have a new Tundra...needless to say that will not be part of my collection
