Default Project SVT LIGHTNING

i finished up the impala and didn't quite think i had enough projects going, so i needed another one.
as some of you know i have recently purchased an airbrush that is supposed to be here friday. i got my compressor last night and went looking for a project to use the new air brush on. So what I came up with was this 99 svt lightning. and the hs i went to didn't have any stencils to speak of but they did have some mask kits for model cars. i saw the lightning ones and then asked about the lightning model so its all good. well here some pics, might try to mock it up later.
i'm thinking metallic black with bright yellow lightning bolts and white accents / shadows on the bolts.

true it may but i need something to try out with my airbrush, single color i could do with a can, and all those bolts are not going on there, so it won't be an over kill of them

nice, please PM me with your mounting and the way you keep the bed attached, i think you should do a bed cover with the lightning on it, but your choice, have fun with this one

Lol another project already,I think that black with yellow lightning streaks would look better on an older truck.

i'm toying around with a couple of ideas for bed covers, might do a soft one instead of the traditional hard cover

lol, yep another one, i get bored easily so i have to stay busy. we will see i think the lightning will look pretty good on it.

update time
got her partially put together and mocked up. had to trim the bed a little to get it to fit, but she lines up pretty good.

didn't even notice, but no 2 finished projects can be the same. the car chassis is easier to extend than the truck chassis so most model conversions have the car chassis on it. anyway mine do. i have extended the truck chassis for my tow truck but it was a pain. can't wait to see the finished product of yours bud.
there's likely to be multiple of the same project at the same time. its just how it works out.

true, but the extention needed for that truck is like 1/8th inch, nicely cut piece of styrene works just fine

Im sure both will look good and work fine. I just don't have alot of truck chassis and I didn't want to use one for this because the car chassis (which I have plenty of) will work very nice for this lowrider. I can't wait to see some update photos of your trucks.

i'd probably make a plain one myself, even though it looks cool, i'm not big on huge logos on cars. i would try to make it as realistic as possible, make people think its not an r/c.
