if you didn't know this already...over in Europe the people at XMODS actually made an SLR McLaren. it sucks that they cost something like $120 to buy them and then send them over or i would have one. but it looks great as of right now and will look even better when it gets that final paint.

OT: I think its only in Europe and Japan where the Benz SLR was sold natively. I know for sure they've got it at some hobby retailers in France, my gf told me... But I'm quite certain that they do in Japan (and China if they distribute them there... You know how orientals love Euro-cars lol)

Ok here it is as of this afternoon, silver base coat now to apply the color coat and clearcoat and she will be done.

SWEET! I love that blue color! my favorite benz is the CLK-AMG though. but still, that's sick.

im not a big fan of that blue since the slr only came in silver and black, but cant wait to see the finished product

Actually starting in 2006 they started doing different colors on it, 13 different ones now.

Nice SLR you got there. I'm just wondering if you are the guy that sells the blue alloy RS rims on ebay? I can see your rims are basicly the same as the ebay ones.

bottom line, it's HIS CLK.
this would be the equivalent of ordering one direct and coosing the color.
yeah you can be a cheap *** and buy from the floor but the high rollers have their cars custom tailored to what they want.
this would be an example.

for you two, congradulations on knowing useless information.
it seems you've gone to great lengths to gain knowledge of a product that you (probably)will never afford.

Actually it's carb cleaner for cleaning the airbrush.

as far as the useless info, well I try to find out as much as I can about anything I am not sure of, and that is one of those things.

The SLR IS one of those rare cars that you actually do go to the factory when they are building it so that they can fit various things to suit your driving style, one example is the suspension is set up according to how you drive and the seat is also custom fitted for you.

BTW the paint I used is over 6 years old and is a HOK color that at the time was over $1200/gallon. Fortunetly I had the honor of hauling paint for Valspar (the parent company of House of Kolor) and I got free samples of all the different paints that they made.
The Passche is over 10 years old and has probably shot at least 15 gallons of paint thru it over the years (been doing custom Hot Wheels for almost 18 years now) and I definitely know when I have been spending too much time using it, because the trigger button is missing so I am putting constant pressure on the tip of the trigger which really gets to hurting after a while.


BTW thanks for the props on the painting job and I will shut up now LOL
