"Doin' the mudfoot" ('41 chevy monster mudder)
this was built for the august XMF expert member buildoff.
there wasn't an actual theme perse but we all agreed to try to build something outside our personal "comfort zone" to up the ante and level the field a bit. i'll try to keep you posted if it places. i doubt it will though because this month is pretty much the who's who of master builders. if you guys aren't keeping an eye on it then your missing out on an EPIC model conversion comp. wish me luck..............please? below is as posted in my builders thread. thanks alot guys.
i had a hard time starting off because i wasn't really into it since i'm not a huge fan of mudders but once the detail got rollin' i was having a blast.... there was alot of stuff that i wanted to do or add but either the buildoffs rules didn't allow it(GPM,board upgrades, servo swaps) or i didn't have time(at the time..... ). i finished 3 days early on the original deadline and the day that i got done a couple people asked for an extension due to personal issues so the deadline was setback to the 30th. alls good in the hood though,i know how it is trying to build like this in a month and juggle personal life... it all came down to time though. my update post isn't in the order of the build and the tailights came in late because i wasn't even sure if i was going to light it up to begin with. after one of your(goodfellaz) updates though,i knew i pretty much had to do it. the problem lies in the fact that i realised it too late to be able to scratch build something for the outside and have it be realistic. the kit came with a liscense plate mount that had a single marker in it wich was too small for a 3mil so i thought,"where would be the most protected from trail debris and trees and where would i put it if this was my 1:1 rig"? being that i was going for a trail rig i decided to do away with the liscense plate completely since you don't need one on ORV's in most states and placed em in the "safest" place. that was the best spot i could come up with since the only reason you need lights on a trail rig is to let the guy behind you know "BIG PUDDLE AHEAD!" . i had plans to put in some "blue dots" but i guess i forgot too.......:duh: this is still one of my fav pics though. thanks again guys,

whoa those other entries were top notch for the most part. congrats on your win, even though i would've voted for goodfellaz civic over your truck *cough* *cough*. Its still an amazing, well executed 41 chevy monster mudder.
