I broke the stock antenna again...

So i took some wire i have from rs that i got for the micro t antenna mod. I made a circle out of both ends of the wire and soldered one to the board. The other i placed in the stock xmod antenna area and put the stock xmod antenna to use. It works great, more range and a stronger setup.

Why did the antenna break? I was trying to dyno this car(testing batteries) but it just didn't stay on(i was getting a little frustrated), and the servo didn't center...(correctly) which is weird since i didn't do anything since my last run. I superglued the board onto the motor cradle(where it touches the motor cradle). I never had a problem, Is super glue conductive?it is in the servo plug are too. I don't think it is conductive. I think recentering and positioning the servo will help.

besides the problems i do have some stuff coming for this little beast!

thanks.

Update:

pics of the antenna

I made the servo horn shorter and i now have the 1.5* tierod. I believe i stripped my diff, so i fixed it. now my steering is messed up. I think i need to loosen the diff, it might be a little tight.

Some of my stuff should have come today... but it didn't.

Nice so far. If only it was easy to make a Front gear box cover (for the back) to make everything look cleaner. This is why I used my Micro T elecs in my Gen 1.

Update:
I have one thing coming in the mail for sure. The other i have no idea. he is not responding...

Anyways. Went to the races last night and test drove this and the micro dt, since nobody was there in my class, again. This handles really well. I just need to gear it a little higher.

I picked up some new shoes. A multi offset wheel set. I have the 0W in rear, 0N in front.

I trimmed the front tread to fit on the narrows. I just need some rim tape and possibly some mini z tires. what is the equivalent tire * in mini z's for the xmod soft and medium treads and hard treads?

Thanks.

Update:

I was hoping to get some stuff in the mail for it, but o well. I did get some rim tape for the mini z rims.Just in time for the races. I am waiting for a friend to upload the video(s). It did really well, it was fast. when i hit the wall or just scrapped it, the body would stick to the wall, lol, i lost by a couple car lengths.

I'm thinking of getting a vdsIII when i have some more money

thanks

I can't in the front i cut out the grill and the front mount is aluminum... which is right below the grill.

Update:

I did get my 2 packages unfortunately one thing came broken(motor endbell) so i can't use my armature yet.

I decided to clean up mounting job and try to get the elecs lower. I also did some more cutting. I ended up turning the board 180* and working in the wiring a bit. Now everything is a little lower, and looks cleaner.

I needed to clean some stuff too.(mainly bearings!)

What i got now:
-Team Redmade 38t motor, pattern wound, fat comm, 28g wire, spiral arm.
-CF driveshaft
-M1 HE BB motor case kit that the endbell came broken... nobody sells it seperately so i can't really buy it separately. I contacted who i got it from. We will see.

My bearings we really dirty(i just kept the bearings on the Axle stub, no reason) Then i used some Moo-slick to lube them again. That is were it sits as of right now.

thanks,
fieldfairy2

You should be able to. As long as nothing is binding and the motor winds are very neat. If you do run that setup. Check the temp of the fets. Make sure they are not getting hot.

thanks. No it is too heavy to fly.

Update:

got every thing mounted and running.

As you can see the board and servo are mounted a lot lower. and the car has definitely lost weight.

The wiring is also a lot cleaner

the chassis was 123 and now is 114. 9 grams

overall: was 201 now is 195. 6 grams? maybe my batteries are heavier. I was running Intellecs vs. Orions.(have both just switch off)

thanks fieldfairy2

Well i have driven it a couple times but i decided to try and fix the m1 endbell and it works. I'll have to bring this to my lhs' indoor races. I just need to make a new servo horn after lowering the servo motor i have had problems getting it to be perfectly center. Shouldn't be too hard.
