Hell yeah. Okay here are some more mock-ups of the TRI-XCK (Crawl King CF Chassis) Of course I mock-up with Lexan. I can't wait to get the CF chassis cut, but it will probably be 2-3 more days until the design is ready. Remember this is the first mock-up and I don't know if it will need changes or re-design yet. So here are some pix of the rear end of the chassis so far.

It is PARMA .040 x 8" x 9" (#10422) I get it at my local RC Hobby Shop for $4.49. You should be able to find it easily. You can cut it with a hobby knife and scissors. Here is a link for the same stuff online. http://www.shopatron.com/product/par...er=10422/137.0

There is no limit, you can set it to how much to want it to articulate. Check back at the photos to see where mine is set.

How is 4WD gonna work? Good idea, but looks a little complicated to get 4WD working with that.

Keep it up!

For now 4x4 still works as normal. Drive shaft which is not on right now. I am working on 2 different alternatives and will post which I decide on after I work it out.

***The work up on the XCK Chassis.

I've been testing the flex shaft system today and it seems to be working very well. I will post updates and photos as usual when I get there.

Well the Pen Tube mock-up is going well (refer to XXX free modding service for more details). The system definately works, but for now is a bit rough on the gears. I am working all that out and plan to get it running smoothly before the weekend ends. (I can't mockup the belt and shaft system until the parts I ordered get in.

PS- With this chassis the mock-up is a little harder because the Lexan flexs, as you can see in the photos. I can't wait to get done with the mock-up and cut the CF so that stops.

pretty wild ideas for the shaft but IMO your overlooking the obvious.
1:18 scale aluminum dogbones.
they would be alot more practical and probably alot more durable in a bind.
fabbing cups would be the easy part.

Yeah your right. I did think about a setup like that, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. If you have a link I would definatly check into that again.

Well this is the problem I have with 1/18 dogbones. They look very cool, but are to long. I can't get any extra clearance without doing some SERIOUS modding. I can only fit 1 in yet alone a double ended coupling in the middle. Unless you have any ideas.

Try yourself a pair of these from ProBoat:

ProBoat MiniV U-Joints: $4.99.

I'm sure with a little shopping around you can probably find a larger pack for the same price or possibly the same sized pack for a little less.

Cheers,
Kyle.
