Default project 62

i guess im letting this out of the bag but oh well... im going to be entering this one into the open class comp this month. im busting my rear to finish this thing. i just started today and made some serious progress. i picked up a vette starter kit today (last one at rs here) and i had this model sitting around and it just seemed like a match made in heaven. so far i have done some crazy work just to get the body to sit where its at. im not going to say much more hopefully the pics speak for themselves.

here are the beginning test fits

molding the interior to the body

after alot of sanding

mocking up the engine

and here she is in your face

i have alot of work to do and not much time to do it in but i think i will be able to finish her and be a strong entry. wish me luck lol

Looks like it's gonna be niiice! I think it's going to be a real slick car. Until I saw the engine, it made me think of this:

I have no intentions of doing this ever, but someone definitely should!

nice project, it reminds me a little of the 57 I did a while back........

I really like these old hot rods, keep up the good work.
I'll be watching this thread.

I was hoping you would say that. That's what I plan on doing with my first. Thanks!

Lookin' good. Can't wait to see the finished product. What are you going to use for clear coat.

i have been busy the last couple of days but the good news is project 62 is done. the chassis and electronics are stock but with all the body work but into it i hope that over comes that fact....

decided to do some more sanding trying to get this thing perfectly smooth
(dont worry the wheels didnt stay)

also decided to just attach the hood and make it one piece with the body

better angle of the work up to that point

i changed colors (i loved the blue on my gt-r)

*if your wondering what the hole in the hood is, its where i mount the front of the car to the chassis via custom clip and screw
here it is all together

*once again dont worry the wheels werent used. check out my comp thread to see the complete package
