Default RSupraX Project

So I decided to chop apart an old beater body supra, and my rsx body to do a front end conversion. I am attempting to put the front end of the supra onto the rsx and I will try to make it all fancy and flush with bondo or something and do a wide body kit to bring it all together. This is my first attempt at doing something like this, so hate if you want. I am doing this for fun and for the experience. So without further adu, some pictures on my progress...

I started by cutting the front end off of the RSX:

Next I cut the front end off of the Supra, and have done some customization to the front bumper as you will see:

I did all the cutting and carving myself. The bumper was a pain...
So other than that I have sanded all the edges making them smooth and flat to prepare for the glue/epoxy and bondo. I also took some shots of the two pieces together on the chassis (Gen1):

And thus how it stands so far. It might look a little funny on chassis because I have the side skirts and the hood removed for the time being. Questions, Comments, and Constructive Critisizm all accepted. Will update as the project comes along. Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!!

Paint huh..... havent really thought about it. Maybe some sort of pearl green or something?? Suggestions welcome.
And a waste of two cars... to who? I litterally havent even looked at the supra body for months, so not a waste there. And I havent touched the RSX for who knows how long. Might as well do something different with the stuff you just have sitting around

get it glued together straight and true with some spare plastic spars giong behind the supra fenders and rsx doors, then use some putty, dry, sand, etch detail lines, etc.
lots of work, but this looks like a good conversion
lol it's how 1:10th scale bodyshell mixes are made(like the sil-eighty bodies...1/2 silvia, 1/2 180sx)

This looks like alot of fun and would be a good idea for an XMS COTM Comp. Who can make the best hybrid of two different bodies.

You know what, Xmods are toys and don't always have to fit that "realistic catagory" This looks like somthing I would enjoy doing. The battle is making it look awsome and that if someone saw it done they wouldn't know what kind of car it was, but they thought it looked awsome. Keep us posted.

not bad so far....pretty good conversion you got goin on...make sure to use some sort of a brace behind the supra fender and rsx body...if u go with green for paint i suggest candy lime green, it's a real pretty green...i painted my f-150 project with it...but good luck with the mounting and finishing work...hope to see finished pics of it....
