Iv noticed in this post that you've covered everything for the steering, but (maybe im just tooo new at this) how are you going to link a, or mutiple, drive motors to this considering you are using 2 front ends?

I'm going to mount a spur gear onto the awd shaft and run a motor straight to it.

Looks nice. I was gonna work on my 4ws but I think I'm just gonna sell all my xmods for my other rc's. But to get 4ws on a xtruck isn't that hard, you just got to think a little. I had it all planned out. But great project so far. Can't wait to see this finished!

I agree the 4ws isnt the hard part, the drive can take some thought tho lol Thanks,i can't wait for the parts i need to show, then i can leave this interior for a while!

I made a rollcage(purely show not functional) and have added the drivers seat and made another steering wheel.

It still needs tidying a bit and the front cross brace adding at the top of the windscreen, before getting a dusting of flat black.

Questions and comments/suggestions welcome.

Thanks stang racer

Well i seem to have caught the OCD bug that is circulating the forums.
The first cage just didn't look right,so a couple of hours of measuring, cutting, bending and soldering, and we have the new rollcage.
Oh don't pay too much attention to the 'new' paint,i was kinda thinking out loud with paint. lol

It still needs some of the joins tidying, and then i can paint it.

Comments/suggestions welcomed.

Well i wanted to leave the interior alone for a while,OCD was killing me.:duh: I received some more parts this week and i now have 1 complete front end assembled and fitted. I also have the new drive shaft cut and fitted too.

I also have enough parts to mock up the second one,but not fit it properly. So i then ripped my alloy trucks front end apart and stole the internal parts i need and........She's a roller! :::

The only thing is as it has the long driveshaft mod and the xmod rim is mounted to the inside if the monster rim,it does this at full lock.

So i am going to experiment with a slightly shorter long driveshaft(if that makes sense)

Anyway,i know how some of you love a good mock-up.....so here ya go!

Gorgeous man, simply gorgeous.

Has anyone done a 4x4x4 before? Great idea though.
Loving the body and the tires, keep the updates coming, this truck is a serious eye-catcher-beauty.

Thanks,as far as i know this will be a first.
I have all the gearbox parts now, thanks to Zippo for that.
I chopped and filled the gearbox's.

I have the gearbox's built and fitted now,and have the elecs placed where i want them.I have also cut a hole and mounted a spur gear to the awd shaft.

I need to get a couple more micro servo's,as i forgot i had converted one to use as a crawl motor and 1 for 360 rotation to be used as a winch. I don't have the parts to re convert them back. I need to work on my forward planning skills! :duh:

I also painted the rollcage.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. They do help a lot.
Well the servo motor just wasnt gonna cut it so i used a delrin MR01 spur gear instead. I will also be using a std xmod motor too,tho i may have to lose some interior to accomodate it.
That is going to have to wait until the chassis is ready.I have also trimmed some of the excees from the top of the gearbox's so the batt packs sit better(not took a pic of that part)

I'm hoping to have the chassis running by the w/e,then it's bodywork time.

Thanks My servo's arrived this morning, and this afternoon i managed to get some time to get involved.::: I have the servo's mounted and the motor too,i have't fixed the ESC in yet as the chassis is getting painted before everything gets fitted properly.

After a small test,i thought i had not set the motor right and it was slipping, turns out the main shaft gear has come loose. I have an idea to fix it(permanently! )

Be prepared for quite a major update......very soon! :::
