Default Donziikid's SIG E-Force:

Newest addition to the flying fleet: SIG E-Force.

It will be a SIG E-Force when it's totally completed. Currently I only have the frame, motor and prop. I still need to purchase a LiPo and an ESC.. haven't quite decided which or what, yet. I'm leaning towards an offbrand ESC from Japan because of the price and a Kokam LiPo because of their reputability at my local club.

I hope to have this project completed by July; that way I'll have something to fly in the fields.

Awesome Donziikid! After my bar-mitzvah, I am either getting the RTR Axial Scorpion or the Super Cub! What motor do you plan on running in it?

I'll be running the one that came in it. It's a ~980kV, ~3-8A, inrunner brushless. Not sure exactly what the wind count is per pole, but I'd guess somewhere around eighty due to the low amperage.

I'd love to shove my Handwound Brushless Outrunner in her, but, that would rip it to shreds. That handwound is rated at ~55amps with a speed at over 106mph.

The RTR Axial Scorpion is a plastic piece of garbage. Either get the kit, or get the cub.

Ok then I'll probably get the Cub to try something new. Either way 106mph, that is super fast!

Bought a used radio for a starting radio. If my dad gets a new Spektrum or Futaba FAAST, I'll probably just use that instead of this one. This only cost me $20.

It's a Futaba FP-T7UHF Super. FM 7-channel radio. It's supposed to be for helicopters, but I'll be using it for this aerobatic plane. That'll make it much easier to do maneuvers with since there won't be "steps" in the throttle toggle.

To be honest with you I thought you had bought a gun so I was a little disapointed to find out it was just a plane I had a friend in the UK who was into planes he got a kit (no idea what) built the whole thing scratch even had to iron on the skin for the wings, once he had finished he took the cause so he could legally fly it and final after a couple of years it was a beast! I can't wait to see this finished, you will have to get someone to film your stunts!

Guns are fun, but certainly not my thing. My brother's the one who loves the guns and could care less about the RC aspect of things.

The "skin" is called "monokote," in case you wanted to know. It's a thin plastic type material that can come in various colors, quite the alternative to painting since it's much lighter. If you can think of the color, one of the companies that manufactures monokote has probably come up with it plus three other colors.

Althought I do not have to iron on the monokote entirely, I do have to do a few once overs and make sure the manufacturing plant installed the monokote correctly. Just by looking at the wings I can see a few places where I'm going to have to reiron. You think a soldering tip hurts when you touch it, try a whole pad that takes up about a 6" by 6" space; that's practically your whole palm.

Since this is an ARF (almost ready to fly) kit, I just have to assemble most of the pieces together and throw in the electronics and make sure everything is balanced properly. Most "kits" you have to do everything including trim the balsa wood so it fits properly; which is typically a painstaking winter. We have three (off the top of my head) planes that were strictly kit builds where we had to do everything, the rest are all ARF kits. I'd certainly rather crash something that I've worked on for thirty hours instead of something I worked on for three-hundred and fifty hours.
