The gen1 cars can only take 8.4 volts. Putting on a 9 volt spells D-E-A-T-H for it. If you want to get the most power out of it you need to get a lithium ion kit at jawdropracing.com. It boosts ur run time and torque/speed without upgrading FETs or anything else.

it wont have any control of acceleration it will have a switch and when u turn it on it will just go do u think that would be faster than a 6 cell upgrade

Yeah for about 2-3 min then it will be run out and you got to get another 9 volt battery so its best to have a 6 cell if u cant get lithium.

ok just remember to cut off the wires going from the motor to the car so it doesnt mess the car up.

I've never had 1 personally but I hear they have good punch and run time. It's as good if not better than Atomic Mods brand.

sorry for being a bit late to this but if you hook up 9 volt to your motor be aware of over heat. one of my friends actually managed to send 24 volts into his motor. he couldnt run it for more than ten seconds and yes you can control it. im not an electrical genius but i think its the capacitator. once a capcitator stores up enough energy it releases it if you hook that up to your motor you'll have a controlled boost but an untimed one also
