Default Tint options?

Ok well people were giving me ideas of tinting options in the buildoff thread so since thats off topic please help me here.

Heres my car

As of now im planning on spending 250$ to get tint film installed at a custom shop. The front windows will be the darkest i can which is 38% and the back i dont know yet.

If anyone has better choices or any idea please feel free to share!

(forreference this is the other things i wanna do to it)

It's not a matter or legality, it's a mater of stupidity. Tinting the windshield is no bueno at night.

I would do it like most factory jobs do. The rear windshield and rear doors are tinted darkest, and the front doors are tinted a bit less (again, night driving). And stay a few steps lighter then the barely legalness just to keep bored cops from pulling you over and checking tint.

Ya i kno but its also illegal here too. Thats a good idea on the few shades lighter. and i was leaning toward the darker in back and lighter in front thats how my dad chyrsler is and i love how it looks

Just in case you don't already know this. If your car has AC the windows are tinted from the factory so if let's say 25% is the max allowed by law and you put 25% film on you are now too dark. also, 250 sounds pretty high, I got 5 windows professionally done on my Maxima for 130 with a 1 year warranty.

Not true... My car has A/C, no tint cept for the T-Tops, my Mom's ex-saturn L200 with a/c no tint. The smoked windows on the GMC were an option IIRC. Doesn't appear to be any real tint on his car. Unless it's a volvo thing.

And i live in Massachusetts so tinting the windows isnt as populart as say in florida so therefore less places do it making the cost higher.

Also how much do you guys think a new driver door window will cost? cuz the one on my car is scratched like crazy for some reason so i want to get it replaced before i get it tinted

do the same perfecntage all the way around, it looks goofy when they are different.

38% really isnt that dark from the inside. but fine from the out side.

I just about gaurantee your windows are factory tinted, they have done this since the 80s on cars that came with AC. It's not very obvious but done at like 5% to help the performance of the ac. The best way to tell the difference is to get a piece of glass like from a broken house window or something and hold it next to it. Or just call a reputable tint place and they will confirm.

5% is like pitch black. its the absolute darkest tint you can buy.... which is illegal most everywhere except for limos.

vette, like i sais before check out specialty auto window shops and ask um how much it would be for them to order and install tinted glass, Not film. Its is guaranteed to last forever (or until the glass breaks)...

It also prevest bubbles from happening as soon as to get a nick in the film or window... Apple auto glass can even repair tinted glass nick and small dings now... So if you take it in to be repaired right away you wont have to order a new tinted glass again.

I cant remember exactly but i only tinted my back window and the two back side windows on the GMC and i did it like 4 or 5 % lighter then legally alowed in canada...

well meme the only fear i have with doing tinted glass is the price of it id liek to limit it to like under 300$ if that much. And would you get your a liek a recycle discount if you give em your olsd glass or somthing?

(and i dont think theres apple auto glass around us)
