Basically if your bike sucks, you're not gettin anywhere. I was riding an '89 GT Santa Ana for like 5 years and It finally snapped. (thank the lord). I could barely even learn anything on that bike.(dont get me wrong, I used other peoples bike, so im pretty good) but Now I have a brand new Verde Prism in the garage and all my skills going into that. Its super nice, so im basically picky about the bike im on. The whole ste up can make you, or break you (literally).

i'm into MTB, i have 2 totally custom bikes built from Wavecrest Electric Bike Frames. i'll get pics tomorrow, but the #1 most important thing i think is to get a stout frame that's extremely light. #2 would be good front/rear derailleurs and shifters (i use Shimano LX) #3 ...some really nice rims/hubs...i use Doublewalled Syncros hoops with Shimana Acera-X hubs. #4 Brakes! i don't like disc brakes much, one of my bikes has tektro linear pull w/ coolstop pads (the best ever), my other bike has shimano LX linear pulls w/ coolstops also #5 Fork. I have a chubby LT fork on my sexy bike and a Suntour SR Duro fork on my basher bike...without awesome forks, i'd be in bad shape.

Im not too bad at flat land, mostly because of the balance i have over my bike because of trials riding...

If any of you dont know what trials riding is here you go:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=wSxOzbHiRwY

Thats about as godd as you can get. Thats marko blau, I met him when he wasnt as famous and as good as he is now. He is still not as smooth as some other but still a pro...

My problem is right now i can bunny hop high enough i can get about 24-28inches. But some of these guys go like 47" or more...

I used to BMX like race. I had a Dyno Blaze it was a pretty nice bike. I did pretty well all either 1st or 2nds. Since I have gotten into mountain biking. I like it it a lot more. I have a Haro V3 with Avid BB7 Disc Brakes and Forte Campus Clipless platform pedals. I get a lot of use out of it. Have put hundreds of miles on this spring/summer.

Here's some pics of my 2 MTB's. They're both electric bike frames i got dirt cheap off of ebay, so i just got the frames and built them from the ground up...

This is my exercise bike/get around bike, i don't really take it to the trails.

This is the one that gets to run head on into trees and abused.
