Default It has been awhile!

Been awhile since I got on here! My Hummer got shoved in the closet during the move and I have not thought about it until today while I was moving some stuff around. I have done a few mods since last posted but nothing major compared to others builds. I have toyed with the though of selling it off to buy a larger scale crawler but who knows yet.

Anyways when I bought it had the off road lift kit and 4wd installed with neon lights. Since then I have added:
- 8-25 gear (pretty sure with the 23T transfer gear)
-Blue heavy rate springs
-Sealed metal bearings
-360 chasis flex mod
-locked front and rear diffs
-shaved the fender flares and part of back bumper to avoid tire rub

So if I keep it what are suggestions for it to continue to a full crawler? To me the motor is the biggest thing. The stock motor just isnt low enough for the true crawler effect.

A different motor should probably be your first step: without the torque and power a crawler craves you'll get no where. I would suggest an HS55 servo swap. Plenty of people swear by them, including myself, and they are a lot easier to install than the Tamiya Gearbox.

Welcome back, by the way! Glad to see you back and posting!

Cheers,
Kyle.

what about the 180SE motor? I have heard talk about it plus the wide axle mod and did think about doing that before. Is it worth it?

I would probable wait and see how it does before adding the magnets. Also need bigger tires. I think it will be much cheaper to just finish the X than to go buy a crawler.

**Edit. Does the Hummer have the long or short wheel studs? Will long+short put together give enough room for the motor or should i do long+long?
