Looks great man! If I'm ever out in that part of NY, we'll have to crawl! Those Rok Lox are a must for me, imo they look much better than the Rock Crushers. How hard were the bead locks to install onto the tires, I've heard many horror stories on RCC on installing them!

Thanks for everyone's comments. The cargo bags are made out of jeans. The ESC, motor and transmission are hiding right under it. Those Rox Lox are huge, when suspension are fully compressed, I only have about 0.5mm clearance between the tires and the wheel well. As for the steel bead lock rims, they aren't that hard to install, but sometimes those tiny screws and nuts can get really annoying. 1 thing I hate about the the rims is that the screws are too close to each other, made it kinda hard to put the lug nuts on, and wish the rims are a little bit smaller. But other than that, they are great!

Update: Outdoor pics and a short video!

Just a pic to show how soft those tires are.

And a short video.

Thanks B, yea a little more traction would be nice, also the place where I drove it in the video, the dirt and rocks are really loose, that's why every time I crawl there, all the truck does is dig holes.

Update: Painted turning signals and side mirrors.

And some more pics of the rims and tires.

The leaf springs look so compressed... looks like you need stronger leafs, or maybe you just psuhed down really hard to make the tires look soft

Update: It's been one...two...three...four months. I had a great time with this Hilux, took it to do all kind of extreme off-roading I can think of.

Recently I did something to it and broke the frame...

So guess its time for a re-build! Looking through my model kit junkyard and found an 4Runner and older model Hilux chassis.

I picked the 4Runner chassis to work with because it have a longer wheelbase and almsot line up with this Hilux double cab.

First thing I did was chopped off the rear wheel well, so the bed can sit flush on the chassis.

Then I got rid of the transmission so the front axle will have more clearance. For the front suspension, I borrowed an idea off bubbles_bizzo from Scale4x4. Using the model kit shocks and turn it into a functional shocks.

Even though the rear wheel well is chopped, but it still doesn't clear the wheels.

So I had to trim it up a bit more to get it line up with the bed's wheel wells.

Got the bed mounted to the chassis.

Here are some rims I'm planning on using for this truck. They are Volks Racing TE37 off the Mini-Z NSX AutoScale. Have been racing Mini-Z using those rims, so they aren't in perfect condition.

Here's a step by step on how I got those Mini-Z rims to fit on the LMC axle.

I also installed a Mini-Z AWD spings in the front shocks to get a little damping.

After the TE37 got primed.

Those TE37 are very nice rims, but IMO they just aren't the perfect match for the Super Swampers. So I choose some Aoshima rims, those rims still ain't what I'm really looking for, but they seems to be a better fit with those tires, so they will do for now. (I used the same concept to mount those rims as I did with the Mini-Z rims.)

Last but not least. Got the body mounted.

That's it for now, stay tune for more updates.

Though I said it, but anyway, welcome back XXX! Thanks for the compliment. The rims are made by RC4WD, they are steel bead lock rims. But RC4WD discontinued making them already. The tires over those rims are Rok Lox, they are also made by RC4WD.

Update: Made some new leafs tonight.

Thanks man.

Update: Got the ball hitch mounted and picked up some rims from J-Milz, would be perfect if I have all four of those steelie style rims.

Update: Thank you Jamil, now I've a complete set of 4 steelies style rims!

Got the bed painted. It might looks like the gun metal paint I used on Color0's GT-R, the paint I used on my Hilux is light gun metal. Not much difference though.

Old decals didn't go on so smoothly.

As I was about to get the tail gate re-install, I found that one of the supporting tabs was missing...

So I go ahead and chopped off the tab on the other side.

Make a new supporting piece from a paper clip and glue it directly to the bottom of the tail gate.
