brushless Evo
hey guys new to here, Im a moderator from over at microtforum.com, heres some pics of one of my newest projects. It has a 14,000kv brushless turbo ace motor, losi excelorine esc reciever and servo, as well as a losi lipo. It has 4wd, and rips like a mother. the motor is mounted inside a stage 2 gen one motor

ha, what a warm welcome to receive. Really cool place you guys got going here. are there a lot of brushless ones out there? I have not found like any. I did a week of googleing and came up with mostly gen 1's with mambas haha, which were totally overkill. mine handles epicly and drifts like a micro rs4 which I also completely modded one time (hand made chassis. worked well, so did its 370sk motor from a mini lst)

alright Ill resize the pics for you. I really like this place lots of good info round here. I notice you took the spur off of a micro t to mesh with the pinion, I did not want to cut the chassis much so I just installed the stock pinion onto the shaft, I heated up the pinion with a heat gun then crimped it smaller, used epoxy to "glue it" to a stock micro t motor shaft, then pulled it off of that and slid her on my turbo ace. Ill post some pictures of the motor itself out.

the only issue i ran into with using the xmod pinion gears was it would not move on its own when starting out. like the motor lacked the initial torque to get it rolling. when it got rolling it would fly, really fast, but it just wouldnt start again when it stopped. so i went with this setup, it worked great while i had it that way. next is installing that set up in a gen 1.

odd. since the losi motor combo is what 8000kv right? which should have much more torque than a 14,000kv motor, yet mine peels the tires from start. I can drift it with the stock tires lol. plus you have a much more powerful battery setup... hmmm check this link out
http://www.wowhobbies.com/turboacebl...tpinion-3.aspx the stats under the review are what are interesting when its compared to the losi bl motors... |

once it would roll just slightly it was hell on wheels, but it wouldnt start off. i know my larger scale propulse brushless system would sometime stall at startup depending on what kinda surface i was on. i bought the programmer (castle link) for it and programmed it to high torque initial start to fix that. so i think its something to that effect. overall torque is probly more, buy initial may be higher with yours. dunno, i know it ticked me off when i was messing with it initially.
