Default Foreign Foods

Recently, I've been trying many new foreign foods, and so far, the most interesting, is the Falafel Pita. I just got one today from my friend at school. The falafel is chickpeas, mash up and the fried into a "patty" and put in the pocket of pita bread, with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. I still can't decide whether I like it or not. It's not bad, but I don't think I would choose this if given an option. It was served with some time of sauce, at first glance, it looked like ranch dressing, but I'm not sure. It's kind of off-white, and doesn't taste like ranch.

Anyway, what kind of foreign foods have you guys tried, and did you like them?

I don't know if you could consider it foreign, but I've eaten alligator. It's similar to chicken, but chewier and more moist.

Foreign foods eh? I can't say that I've tried a lot of foreign foods, I've had sushi, but that's not too crazy. I have become awfully fond of brie cheese though, it's French, but I'm sure you could find it in any supermarket stateside.

I really like samosa's. I went to some Middle Eastern party and there were tons of those samosa's and they were really good.

Does mexican food count? Because Texas hast just about the most legit (or illegal, depending how you look at it) mexican food ever.. "Fresh from the border, ready to take your order"...

And Taco Trucks...

Nope, Spanish/Mexican is just as much American nowadays. :P

Another good thing I have had before...
I like Thai/ Vietnamese cuisine, but the best thing I have had would be a big plate of Pad Kee Mow. If you have a good Thai food resturaunt in your town, go there and ask you want some Pad Kee Mao.

I don't eat Tacobell. I said mexican food ****it, not a fast food place ran by asians and cooked by white teenagers.

I'm talking taco trucks run by folks who barely speak english! That is authentic.

And no, spanish/mexican is not american.

It's not really Top Ramen... You actually have to boil water and cook the noodles in it for 3-5 miins instead of putting hot water in a cup. The flavor of the noodles are much more different. Also, there's sauce, not some power crap on it and the veggies come pre-packaged. Also, it's not a soup

There is also Ramen that has to be cooked in boiling water for about 3 minutes.

Basically you're eating Ramen with veggies on top, and probably paying more because it's a different packaging.

Craziest food I have tried was squid and it was freaking DELICIOUS.

Other than that, the norm chinese/mexican from a restaurant. And the mexican around here is authentic, this town is 90% mexican population.
