The Rocket Car!
Here's my latest project-thing. Corvette C6R model with two (Count 'em, TWO) Estes C6-3 single stage rockets. This thing has been heavily modded. A bunch of fishing weights in the front to keep it down. I might add a huge rice wing, not sure yet. I'm waiting for some decent weather to launch it, maybe next month?
Sorry for the weird colored pictures, my camera can't help it.

One rocket is going to fire before the other and cause the car to stray off your planned path. Not only will it do it when you first light, but it will also do it when the first rocket has died, then it will go the opposite way. Make sure you do this in a large and safe area.

might want to clear the tape for the top of the motor so you don't catch the whole car on fire (because they have a second explosion to shoot out the parachute) .... unless catching it on fire is your plan.

ya that car is gonna go some other way, did some one say there was a motor in it, hows that? if you wanna keep it on the ground while it "flies" angle the rockets downwards a little bit...or a lotand maybe, if you don't mind how it looks, put a wing on the hood that faces downwards so the wind goes straight over, or raise the back of the car, get it on film for us please!

This is going to be very interesting, I've not seen a rocket Xmod until now.
If you just want it straight and fast, you might want to make a track for it. Not an expensive one, maybe just a long roof gutter wide enough for it to fit in and with sides high enough so it won't get out on it's own...until it hits the ramp at the end. |

Get the rockets even, or it's going to go all over the place
I have a model rocket car. 0-60 in less then a second. Does 50 atleast down my driveway (spent last summer figuring this all out, lol)

cool, a rocket car thats reusable, i thought that it might blow up at the end? Was it commercialy made to stop it from breaking or something, doesn't it eat a lot of gas, what fuel does it use and you must have a looooong drive way! sorry for all the questions, got any answers?

It has two bases, with a guide string in between the two. One base, is where the fuse wires are attached. The other end has a bumper. On the guide line there is also a parachute the car catches, put it like 3 feet in front of the end. Just uses regular model rocket engines. Though, don't get the ones that have the 2ndary charge for a parachute, otherwise it blows off inside the car too

or make a routing tube for the parachute charge to help slow it down (maybe even rout the charge tubes to pop 2 parachutes out the back)
wel, that thing will eat dirt and rocks, and will run outta rubber and wheel fast, so double up on tires! oh, and make sure the wheels are aligned right. and as above stated, straighten the rocket engines. and a front splitter and wing will be needed (hot glued or something secure) unless you want to add wings so you make the world's first rc flying car lol enough of my rant. get busy dude
