Cool rcp shreader

ok. i am starting a new project. this is a chassis only project. origionally this was going to be the chassis that was going to go under the alfa romeo body in my other thread, but i think it should be a completely different project because this might have some huge suspension fixes and mods. that is what i am mainly going to focus on: suspension. so far, i put larger pins in the suspension arms so they don't jiggle around much. actually i have become quite good at this. anyone who wants it done, just pm me. anyway, i did that mod and there is a huge difference in the amount of suspension wobble. now the main scource of the wobble is from the screws. this will be a bit harder to solve, but i will figure out a clean way to do it in about a week. for electrics, i plan on upgrading the board to maybe a revell board or something. not really sure about that because i am on a budget of about 15 bucks. i hand wound a motor to 55 turns and i am running lithium ions on a stiletto chassis. for wheels, i am using scion tc wheels and i did the deep dish tutorial on the backs. thats all i have for now. i might post some pics after school today.

well the revell board is said to be better than the micro t board and about the same size as a mini z board. i have said numerous times before that i am not able to afford the miniz board.

my gpm alumium knuckles had quite a bit of wheel wobble in them so i took a file and ground down the knuckle so it would have a tighter fit. this seemed to work very well, as now there is almost no wheel wobble from the knuckles out. now all that is left causeing the problem are the screws holding the knuckle to the suspension arms and steering tie rod. well, in the front. the rear was easy to fix, and now i am very proud to say i have no more insane amounts of wobble in the back! the front is going to be a bit more difficult, although i have already made new hole spacers on the tie rod. there is just enough slack for the screw to turn and move up and down in the hole. i already replaced the stock arm pins with wider diameter pins. that took the wobble away from there. now the only thing to do in the front is to grind down the knuckles and somehow take out the slack in the lower arm. Then no more Wobble! i am so excited. again, sorry for the lack of picks. i will try to take some as soon as i can. sudgestions and comments are welcome.

the gpm should have come with washers that you're supposed to use when using bearings... there shouldn't be any wobbling. and the rear should also have a derlin washer for the bottom pivot.
if you have to grind, then you've installed incorrectly

RCP ripper = RCP shredder.... similarities, maybe???

Hurry up with the pics, or I'll have to close the thread. Good luck with the project...

Later,

yes. i will take a few pics after school today. i think it would be kinda hard to install it wrong. i put it on right, the reason i had to grind it down was because i lost those washers. i don't know about any spacers that come with the rear knuckles. mine didn't come with any. i got them from atomic mods. they didn't send any. anyway, i will take pics after school today. i think it is just a coincidence that i chose that name. i just thought it was a good name. i 2was gound to put it as carpet shreader, but i desided on rcp.

/Users/divitto/Desktop/stang body.jpg
i am using this body just to test wheel clearenses. i will probably go with lexan eventually

also, i just lost my motor in the little drain on my basement floor, sooooo i am gonna have to find a new motor and work off of that...

/Users/divitto/Desktop/deep dish.jpg
my custom deep dish scion tc rear wheels. these along with wide rear axles gives this thing an incredably wide stance

/Users/divitto/Desktop/motor idea.jpg
i am working on fitting the motor more like a gen one motor mounting to lower the center of gravity. the motor fits perfectly between the lithium cells...

/Users/divitto/Desktop/just a thought.jpg
oooorrrr... lol. nah

/Users/divitto/Desktop/another comparison.jpg
another comparison shot. the xmod makes my small 1/16th buggy look huge.

anyway, thats all i have for now. tips and comments are apriciated

tell me if the pic links work. they worked on my computer...

they don't work because it's on your computer.
our computers don't have your pictures saved on them so it'd be impossible for us to see them.
upload them to photobucket or something then link them here from photobucket

you don't even click anything
just hover over the pic and when the "direct link" comes up, click, and it'll say copied. then paste it. or click on the image button on the board's reply box and paste it into the popup dialog box

sorry there have been no updates recently. ive been very busy with school work and im going for my eagle in boy scouts, so i really don't have much time for my xmods. i will try to update as much as possible, but if i don't post for a while, that is why. ok well i have changed my mind for the body. i WILL have a body with this project. actually 2 bodies. one body is that mustang i have in my photos on photobucket if anyone has bothered to look at them in there. however, it won't look that way soon. i am cutting that thing to pieces. so far i have cut out the front grill, cut ducts in the hood (i plan on making vents in there), i have also cut out a bit at the boring spot inbetwee the exhast pipes. i plan on making a deffuser in that space. i am putting mesh into the grill an plan on making a radiator to go inside. this will be my new shelf queen an i want it to be as detailed as possible. i think i will cut out the side windows and put in a thicker mesh to look like those window nets on real stock type race cars. the doors will stay closed (they would be welded shut on a real racer) and the hood will open up to reveal a small ford 302 v8 engine i made out of soda bottle plastic and some parts from other models i have.

my second body is going to be a lexan body. i will make it myself with a homemade vacuform machine i made. i will model it after an alfa romeo 8c.
that will be the hard part. well i am out of time now, but i will update soon. maybe with some pics.

Edit. i have decided to base my mustang body off of a boss 302 design. now i am going to make lighter body panels out of lexan.
