Default Intro

Hi, my name is Luis, and i recently got a Nissan Titan at my local radioshack, with a 4x4 upgrade and off road upgrade, and rechargeable batteries, all for $65. I am very happy with it . Before, i had a Mini Z Overland and it was fun, but 2WD wouldnt cut it , so i decided on XMODS. I am new to this forum also.

I have one quick question; i want to lock my Titans differentials with the tissue, but were exaclty do i put the tissue, or paper? Could some one explain to me, or even take pictures? Your help is appreciated.

Hey and welcome to the boards!

Stick to the rules and enjoy!

As for locking your diff the paper tissue method sucks!! Take a look at this which is my opinion is the best way to do it:

Just wish I had thought of it!

Welcome to XMODSOURCE! Read the rules, abide by them, and everyone will get along fine!

If you're unsure about anything, PM myself or any of the mods/admins and we'll gladly help you out!

Now, concerning your question about locking the Evo-Truck's diff...

Locking Evo diffs with tissue/paper? I only know of a permanent and semi-permanent way.

I assume by your asking for tissue/paper that you're looking for a reversible method. In that case, pull the two diff halves apart (hold them by the outdrives), watch out as the internal bevel gears could go flying. Then put white glue (the stuff they use in elementary school) between the gears and put it back together. When you don't want a locked diff anymore, just take it apart and pull out all the hardened white glue! Sorry I don't have a pic, my Evo-Truck is shelf-queen now. I don't do anymore mods to it.

welcome to the forums! hope you find what you need and have fun.

4wd is always the way to go haha, as for locking the differentials with paper or tissue, i would just stick with superglue, tissue wont hold very long, and superglue has been working for me since my first gen cars, i have only had one superglued differential ever come undone, and then i superglued it again and it is still working how it should, superglue FTW! haha

Or just use the link I posted earlier:

http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2962

Which takes you to a thread from Numbchux which shows you how to lock you diffs with a small pin that can be removed with ease should you ever want to take it out!
