Default Battery life problem

Well, I picked up my firebird evo today, and it's nice and all, but i'm only getting about 15 minutes of run time, maybe 10 minutes of GOOD runtime. On radioshack.com it says that it supposed to last 40 minutes on one set of 4 AAA's, and i'm not getting that. I've had to replace the batts already today, and it's only been run less than an hour.

if you get rechargebles then i recommend getting rayovac ones they last 3-4 hours in my xmod with continuose run time, and take only 2-4 hours to charge up.

What's the capacity of those batts? Most of the ones i've seen are 1000mah.

go get the energizers from rs, they are 900mah, if you want good ones go to atomicmods and get like 1000mah and they are cheaper than rs, its cheaper than the rs we have in ontario anyways...i spent 22 bucks with 10 percent off on bateries alone.

I've got the charger because of the rechargeable batts that we use in our camera, so all I need is the batts.

never go to atomic mods for something that costs a "few" bucks on there. the shipping is ALWAYS $5-$10. if you buy from atomic mods then i recommend that it is something that cant be bought anywhere else.

i would get the rayovac AAA rechargebles. i looked at the pricing of them and the are $7.99 for 4 of them.

the pricing i gave above was AA batts

Wal-mart or K-mart or Target is where i get mine. never go to radio shack for batts. they are expensive and dont last long.

I just went to home depot and picked up the Rayovac starter kit.
It came with the charger, 8 AAA recharable batteries and 4 AA batteries and I only paid 38 bucks !
It works wonders too: I run my xmods for at least 35 minutes each with 4 AAA rayovac batteries.

How do you convert to 6 cell? I know there's a pack to attach to the other power on the car, kind new to xmods. If it were a full scale RC i'd know how to do it
