Highly doubt they will give us hobby grade esc. It would be nice though.

The ESC can be toy grade as long as its proportional. The steering hopefully will have more "steps" to it. Like a mini z

So I just barely saw this news in an atomicmods.com newsletter email.

I remember the early days of xmods being very fun, right on through the fist round of Evolution Xmods, a big part of the fun for me was the body kits, the light kits, and of course the faster motors. I didn't end up buying any of the "street" Xmods because they didn't have body kits, and I just wasn't too interested in the cars that they came out with, except maybe the 370Z, well the GT-R was kind of nice too.

Even in full scale cars, it seems like body kits have become less common. The cars right from the manufacturer don't lend themselves as easily to body kits, now that bumper covers are more streamline integrated into the car it seems. That's just my observation, I could be wrong.

In the past few weeks, I've been trying to find a good charger for AAA batteries so I can start driving my Xmods again. My original Xmods charger doesn't seem to be working, I don't know if it's the charger, or the types of batteries I bought for it. I haven't found a quick charger, everything says it takes hours to charge. I'm kind of thinking about getting an atomic mods lipo set up, but I want the regular AAAs for my kids to run.

Default oh great

LOL.. here we go again

I wouldn't get TOO excite.... mostly like if "Xmods" get a re-release it's going to be the sad downgrade "Street" version all over again.

It's was a miracle that the "Street" series was even release. I still believe TO THIS DAY.. that series was MADE possible by the FAN base..

my BS guess on the Xmods 2013 Fall release:
Ford Mustang
Chevrolet Corvette
Dodge Challenger

^--- dead given... no doubt about it

on a side note:
GOOD too SEE ALL ya

i was in the area and walked into my local radio shack and asked the lady in there if she knew anything. she said that they were confirmed and will be available online before in stores. she also told me that she thought it was dumb that they discontinued them because they were such good sellers

Exactly! I'll believe them when they hit shelves, not before. With the shape Radio Shack is in financially at the moment, I have my doubts that we are getting any new XMODS.

My 2 cents...
Radio Shack was jumping on the band-wagon during the hype of the Import Scene a.k.a (The Fast and the Furious) days

if u think about it...
The 1st Gen and Evo Gen had more sponsors and backings vs the Street Series...

when it comes down too it... it's all about marketing

They are a dying company that more than likely would not put any money into recreating a product. They care more about other things than remote control cars that people will actually purchase. Radio Shack would rather continue dumping money into the 'toy lines' they already have. It could all change though...

Why do you think they will bring them back? It has been years since they last released a new XMODS model.
