thats what i was getting at is the way i was reading it was if you put lipo on upgrading your fets is a must. most lithium set ups i have seen weigh less than regular batteries. its not so much voltage causes the blown fets, its the amps, i know that. it was just a question as to why he thought that.

I think it is just a miscommunication. It isn't a bad idea to upgrade your FETs, but it isn't always essential.
