New r/c truck (ssmt)
I just picked up some Super slick monster trucks, so far i am very impressed. the wheels and tires are freaking amazing. The truck has articulation in the front and rear. its a neat little truck for the price. I havent been able to play with it yet since all my batteries are at my house and im at college. Ill be able to play with it tomorrow afternoon though! here are some pics!
Its a 1/24th scale truck, full awd, and customizable. its pretty neat!

My uncle has one of those. He went hobby grade with it.....it's pretty sweet, pulls wheelies pretty easily. could use some more travel though...and locked up diffs.

Those wheels are Huge, looking at them makes me think of an xmod question for you guys. When you do custom Mudders on a XMOD do you loose a lot of torque with the standard gear set? Is thier a noticeable torque loss?
But the cool thing about That R/C(the one pictured) is that is is designed for big ol' tires, so it should be geared right. |

Go over to scale4x4rc.org and sign up. Look at thier builds. The SSMT makes a very good crawler.
How much do you want for it?

yea im planning to go to a hobby store sometime this weekend to see if i can get even larger wheels, or just some different disigns and stuff. I do agree with the more travel though, it does need a lot more. Im gonna try to start working on it this weekend a bit. Im pretty excited to go home today and try out this beast! lol. Sweed did you want to buy it? I got so excited that i bought three of them lol, so i have two more new in box if your interested.
Oh and if anyone wants to see any specific part of it, just ask and ill try to take a pic of it

I believe your talking about the 1/43 scale. The one azn has is 1/24 scale. But the 1/24 scale also make pretty good crawlers.

those have been around for a few years. they sell them at toys r us for 12 with tax. they have kits for the f150 and hummer h1. the f150 comes with slick type tires and a motor upgrade for speed. the hummer h1 comes with off road type tires and a torque motor upgrade. they both come with different types of rims too. the kits go for 5 with tax. i have 2 of them. they work pretty good. i ran them through mud, grass, water, and snow. i completely submerged one in a puddle that i thought wasn't deep, but turned out to be about a foot deep. it kept on going and came right now. i kept using it like nothing happened. i think they're sweet. for the price they're cool too.
i used the blue baja type body and put it on an evo car chassis with some 5 spoke star rims and it looked pretty **** nice. here's a pic. |

Both make good crawlers... They're somewhat expensive and quite hard to find these days..

They have been using the axles and struts from the 1/43 ssmt's over on scale 4x4. A few have modded the 1/24th's though also.
If you do a search on ebay for FastLane (no space) almost all the way down the page, there is a 1/24 with the off road upgrade brand new in box for a decent price. It's not mine but I just noticed it a little bit ago. I would post a link, but im not sure hwat this site's policy is on doing so so you'll have to find it yourself. |

that looks pretty sweet, idk about all that chrome on the side there, seems like it just reduces clearance but those wheels almost make up for that
btw do those wheels/tires fit on an xmod?

they do fit. i've made a lifted hummer with those. just gotta flip the front clip and you're done. of course mod the rear clip. it has JUST enough clearance for full articulation. and i shaved off about 2 mm extra for a bit more articulation. if you shave down the inner well from the rims and jb weld the off road kit tires AND rims, then it's a PERFECT fit. and it mounts FLUSH with the rim too. look pretty **** good. i'd post pics, but like i said before, no cam. soon though, soon.
