Default 1 controller, 2 cars.

My bro and i both have a street xmod car, he also has a gen 1 car that now has a lost transmitter. i know that the gen 1 has a removable crystal. would it be possible to go to a hobby shop and buy a crystal with the same frequency as his street series controller so that he can use his street controller to control his gen 1 car? i figured this would be the cheaper route than trying to find a new gen 1 transmitter.

I highly doubt that you'll find a crystal with whatever frequency you need. Best thing to do is (unfortunately) find a new controller online.

yes, i believe it would work, unless they changed the frequencies which i think they wouldn't do because that would be a waste of time. I belive it would be worth a go! My money is on it working perfectly

yes, it should work, i dont see any reason it wouldn't, exept if they changed what each channels frequency is, but i highly doubt that! My money is on it working perfectly!

Yes that is possible as long as the crystal # matches the band # on the back of the controller. I saw a controller on ebay today for pretty cheap, but then you still need the matching crystals for the controller and car.

what channel is it? band number? because you can go to xmodsinternational.com and buy a pair of crystals with that band number and it'll work. free shipping too.

I use one controller for most of my cars, and just swap crystals. If you want to send me a PM with your address and what crystal his remote uses (it will be numbered 1-12) I can send you a spare for his gen 1.

I see there are other offers here to give you a controller but I will put mine up any way: Pay shipping and I will give you the controller and crystals of your choice. And that is for anyone who may need some controllers.

lots of wrong info mixed in with the correct here .... yes it will work perfectly well all gen xmods use standard hobby grade xtal,s 27mhz am band . saying that the street controlers are the worst so an older gen one would be a better option
