Custom xmod '81 DeLorean Dmc-12

I went to a rc hobby shop today in PA. They has a custom xmod they modded. IT was a 81 DeLorean Dmc-12 it had working lights, interior lights, brake light and turnsignals. The doors opened with a motor. They had ceramic bearings on it, with all metal drive line, metal wheels and metal wheel lugs,

THERE WAS NO WHEEL WOBBLE.

It was painted and interior and car was done perfect to scale. they put a clear coat on it that made it look amazing. They redid the steering components so it turns smooth as butter.

There was a list of mods i couldnt even begin to list. All lights and doors were controlled by a custom controller.

The interior was cloth and the sweetest part is when the lights are on the little dash lights come on.

I swear on there indoor track it must go every bit of atleast 50mph or more.

They said its not forsale. I would give anything for this xmod. they played with it for atleast an hour and the batteries didnt die?

I will seriously pay 400 if someone can make me one. it honestly looked like the rear thing. comment and let me know your opinions

I know it sounds far fetched but im completely serious. it was the coolest car i have ever seen. obviously they put alot of work into it and without pics it dosent help my cause.lol i seriously want someone to make me one

I will i go up to pittsburgh on a regular basis, so its not a problem. hey i mean if people dont believe me i dont really care. I have nothing to prove its a sweet car i want one.


But everyone knows how it is, You havent seen it, you didnt think of it your self. So D*mn this mythological space toy must have just fallen threw 8 dimensions with his the help of his magic wand ended up in a hobby shop in pittsburg. Seriously tho. I like how people assume that its a lie just because they havent seen it. Who would ever thought it was called "CUSTOM" for a reason. I mean yes there is only one. I could understand if i said hey xmod just released a 81 deLorean. but there secretly selling them to vip xmoders that are secrent xmod agents. Sorry for all the Sarcasm lol Im not a Smart @$$

we have people lie about **** all the time. pics are just a way that we can make sure. i believe one of the times a member called "driftordie" posted a thread about a car he found on craigslist that he claimed was his own.

It certainly not impossible.

Kyosho make the Back 2 the Future body for the Mini-Z, then you can get various die cast and model bodies of stock Dolereans.

You could use two XMOD boards on different bands to power different functions, i.e. drive / steer on 1 then lights / servos on 2.

Look at XMODifications GMC pickup being discussed in your other thread, it has kill switches to control how power is routed, i.e. drive and winch at the same time or just drive or just the winch.

You could use a multiple channel hobby grade TX / RX to control the various different functions in the same way as two XMOD boards would work.

Hobby grade servos would explain the improved steering, then micro servos could be used to open the doors.....

Interiors and lights are nothing special, look at some of the work from Bondo other the years, he has some of the best light kits and custom interiors out there.

The only thing that bothers me is the speed you claim it runs at, even with a V2 board and say 11volts of power with all these addons it would be to heavy to be fast or stable.

I would definitely be interested in pictures of the car, the chassis and the controller.

All we are saying is that it would be alot better if you had pictures to prove this.

I dont know the exact speed im guessing, its indoors and on a track for all i know i could be way off. In all reality it dose seem to fast. the only way to be sure would be to really check the speed

the only thing i dont believe is a xmod, going 50 mph, or a indoor track big enough to have a xmod going 50mph, and lasting over an hour on the battery... and that you have 400 dollars to have someone build you one.

i dont think any one would drive it at all lol. one roll over and id cry.


i also dont think there would be enough room for everything that he is claiming. a full detailed interior would be hard enough with a flat delorean. But plus all the extra electronics and motors for the doors and lights and god the electronics just to make it go fast? wheres it all suppose to fit and still look real? i just dont see it all happening in ONE car.

i could see one car that was super detailed on teh outside with all the lights and opening doors and stuff.

and i could see one car with a super detailed interior

and i could see one car that might be extremely fast.

and maybe one car that could have a very long battery life.

but all that in one car.. as small as a xmod. with a body that isnt very big... and has no head room... Just doesnt add up.

Not doubting you, buy pics would be sweet! Deloreans are crazy. The only (real) one Ive ever seen was at Stars Cars in Gatlinburg, TN. It was a prop from Back To the Future. It was raw.
