Default basic off road gas rc

so i've always loved radio controlled cars. fun to drive, race, crash . but im so hard on them they never really last. i've had zip zaps... kinda small. xmods are awsome... i love the moding but, its only really for the street. i've always wanted to try gas powered trucks but they seem a little expensive.

but price aside, whats the best off roading 4x4 dirt eating machine out there?! i was looking at the tmaxx. dunno much about it but looks like it has good reviews.

just wondering, does anyone have one? and how do they run, operate, do they fall apart easy, expences, upkeep?

if anyone could tell me what they think the best off roading gas rc would be for... i guess a "novice", that would be great.

(sry if i jumped around on the topic lol)

hpi is nice and all, but its bloody expensive
you should look into the JATO(just google it) or the xtm xcellerator, wich is wut i have. its inexpensive, and with the money u save u can get a roto start kit or a few aluminum parts. and it also comes with a .18 engine stock!

Torredo is banned. Also my Rustler is the one that came out before the Jato, the only real difference is the 2 gear transmission the Jato has.. But the gearing my rustler has makes it just as fast if not faster then the Jato. Also why do you want AWD if you havent even owned one before?

"Also why do you want AWD if you havent even owned one before?"

just because i want something that wont get stuck in the dirt or anything. i was looking at that 3.3 jato but for about the same price i could get the 2.5 t-maxx. im kinda looking at the revo's tho. those look real nice. my birthday is coming up real soon so hopefully some cash will fall out of the b-day cards lol

I got a tmaxx, emaxx, rustler, and my dads got another truck similar to the rustler-style, but i forget the name of it. i love them, yes theyre a little pricey, but deff. worth it. and if you do crash, replacement pieces can be bought really cheap. racing is a blast. the tmaxx does 40-50mph. some can be hard to handle n they take some practice, somewhere to run them, and patience, because they can be a pain sometime if u buy pull start ones. My personal reccomendation: the TMAXX; simple, rtr, fast, easy to handle, reasonably priced. a good pic in my opinion.

The best truck you can get hands down is a savage or even better a savage X
THEY TAKE A **** WOOPIN!!!!!!!
the only thing thats weak in them is the flywheel and you can upgread that to alunimum fairly cheaply
awsome beginner trucks and you can easly upgrade them. pretty easy to work on. Just one good truck
HPI build this monster..so check it out
spend the extra cahs save for something thats goin to last a while and not always being worked on because its broken..so stay away from Tmaxx HAHAH

those aren't really that expensive, xmods are just cheap, mostly because of size. also, the quality is much higher. the tmaxx would be pretty good for your first truck, traxxas has good support and high quality products. as far as other compaines, hpi, losi, associated, kyosho... the list goes on and on. there are many high quality trucks out there, in ready to run form.
