Improvements Made on the Evo models:
15% faster then all gen1 models
880 feet per minute compared to (830)
7 gear settings compared to gen1 model (only 4)
1,300 plus compared to (1,190 feet per mintue)
4 kinds of screws only (verus 10)
Has a steering diameter of 20 compared to (35)
-says it all in the book N researches

My personal reason behide picking the Evo model over the gen1 models is that you get immediate response each and every time you stomp the acceleration, the chassis and add ons are much more simple and easy to do and because you can still fit gen1 model body tops onto the new evo chassis.

The Evo's are a lot easier to work on, the drive lines are simpler, and installing upgrades are a lot easier.
Another consideration is that when using off the hook RS parts, the gap evens up a bit on performance with Stage 2 cars, but the Evo will still accellerate quicker and turn sharper. I also worked out the problems with my Evo AWD, and after discovering my mistakes I've eliminated all but a slight power loss with the AWD car over the RWD car.
Parts interchangable include most bodies, tires and crystals. Things like suspensions, shocks, gearing and motors are not interchangable between the cars.
For $10 more the Evo is a much better buy.

although the EVO may be faster or w/e,
i still like GEN1 way better, them EVOs
just look sick cheap and dont resemble
a normal RC chassis. And when you upgrade
the GEN1 appropriately with a few parts...
for example: Nelly Turbo, V2, Liths, etc...
the car is a rocket anyhow. And as for the
turn radius, this to can be fixed with x2 3.3k
resistors. So for this part it isnt really a match.

The only real neat advantage the EVO has are
the outdrive axles and interchangeable pinions
which are cheezie anyhow.

just my .02, Ill stick with mah Shigano NSX!

evos are VERY cheap and break easy they may be better at turning, but that is the only thing that is improved. only get 1 if u plan to race indoors.
my 2/100

I have to definetly agree 110%, no matter wat gen 1 so far can be made to outperform an evo byfar, and are more reliable, stronger, take more abuse and hard racing, the evos are nice but i'll take a gen.1 over an evo anyday

apparently you gotta put the front clip on your Evo, and then use the rear clip from the evo instead of the Gen1 rear clip...i think...someone correct me if I'm wrong

welp no matter what ANYONE SAYS the GEN 1 are slower stock but when you tweak them to there max gen 1 s kill and are much more reliable. just look at viperdoubts brushless car that will blow ANYTHING away.

To shorten up your chassis on the Evo's, you need to #1 take off the current body top that is on the chassis, #2 look at your far right by where the motor is located, you should see this green peice that has bout three screws in it. # 4 you losen' up them scews and take them out, #5 flip the chassis upside down...again at the far right near the rear wheels a little past where the batteries are there's that greenish peice there that is held by a grayish peice with 2 screws. #6 you losen' up them scews and take em off, now the whole rear clip with the wheels should be able to come off the chassis. #7 this other grayish peice should've had came off too, if not then take it out...it's by where the motor was at right next to that green peice with them three scews that you had tooken off right before you flipped the chassis upside down...insert the whole rear clip back in place, now it should be able to go in a bit futher making the chassis a little shorter...#8 after all that you just scew them screws back in place and you're done (good to go) Pictures would've had been better than words...I'll take some step by step pictures whenever I get the chance...and make sure that you're using the Evo rear clip with 2 pre drill holes if you're inserting in the gen 1 bodies along with whatever car you get's front clip as well.
