When you start tinkering with **** it alters how the car is therefor not making it reliable. 300zx FTW.

When you do take out things or add things it makes the car non-reliable.

Because when you like take out the Top Speed Chip, it reduces the life of the motor. That Chip is there to make the motor not do more than it can.

I-4s, and Diesels are bad cars to mess with the chips. If you want power but want fuel mileage and to have it reliable get something with a V-6 in it.

dude ive researched a lot into this. i recommend a honda crx and then do a engine swap from a acura integra. honda crx is the lightest car honda has made bsides that stupid insight. its great performance i recommend 1991-1992. or get acura integra. finally honda accord 1991-1992, do a H22A engine swap (honda prelude style).

k about the crx good idea never thought about that but about the accord i know it has a v6 in it but in the civic i know thats its hard as hell to install the H22A but if you did want it in a civic youll be out like 3 grand but youd have to sacrfice stuff like you a/c i think dunno but yea accord with an h22a is pretty good.

i wudnt recommend zx because of dependability is less than hondas (though still good). it is also rwd which is not good in canadian weather. it is also gas guzzling which if u dont care about i guess its not a problem. they are ok though. the honda accord 1991-1992 has a 2.2 litre vtec pushing 115-140 hp. good dependability decent on gas, and u can swap a honda prelude engine pushing 200 HP. i recommend honda crx (101 HP, VERY LIGHT, 0-60-8ish seconds, COMMON ENGINE SWAPPER FROM B16A-or B18A engine - acura integra) cause its VERY good on gas, DEPENDABLE, and A DEFINITE TUNER. only problem it is old...1991-1992. you can get good prices on those. I recommend also acura integra if u can afford it - high acura quality, decent hp, dependability. other than those, i recommend toyota celica (OK, not bad), vw gti 1994-1998. But here are my top choices, considering reliability, affordability, quality, and power

TOP LIST
1) HONDA CRX 1991-1992 2.8-4.5K
2) HONDA ACCORD 1991-1993 1.5-5K High Mileage doesnt matter too much
3) ACURA INTEGRA 1991-1995 3.5K-10K
4) TOYOTA CELICA 1-7K (1991-1995)
5) HONDA PRELUDE- 1.8-7K (1991-1995)
6) TOYOTA CAMRY (Believe it or not these are tunable and fast...i have a V6 and it is fast as f""k) (2K-8K) (1991-1995)
7) VW GTI/GOLF
8) HONDA CIVIC
9) NISSAN 180SX
10) NISSAN 240SX/SILVIA
11) MITSU ECLIPSE - RARE IN CANADA

OTHER POTENTIALS
1) MAZDA MX-6
2) MAZDA MX-3
3) FORD PROBE (A RISK)
4) AUDI A4 1.8T (IF U CAN AFFORD IT)
5) VOLKSWAGEN JETTA

I'm behind you all the way on that choice

Also, isn't MR2 an MR car? I remember reading from an MR2 owners site that MR2 supposedly stands for Mid-engined Rear-drive 2-seater. Some even go around Midship Runabout 2-seater.

But besides that, I'm behind you on the 300ZX! Nissan FTW.

Also, the MX-3 has quite a lot of potential, the only problem I see is that its a 1.8L V6... I'm guessing the diameter of each piston is like the size of soupcan
