Default Question about hobby grade electronics?

I am trying to install hobby grade electronics into my gen1 xmod. What would be the best electronics to use? Please keep in mind I would like the price to be reasonable and links to the product would help. Thanx

iWaver (mini-z clone) is probably cheapest - not really hobby grade but requires a hobby grade controller to run it so its pretty close....

Sure - you can make that work without to much complexity....

well as far as servos you can always get a hs-55 it's a micro servo so that would help for size

another question i have is... can you stack the FET's on a micro-t board to accomodate higher performance motors and more battery voltage?

Just get a Losi LiPo if your goin with a Micro T board just know that If you want BL, you need a new Tx/Rx Combo(or the one losi makes so you can use the stock transmitter) and a new ESC and motor. Plus with BL you'll be breaking things left and right, if It destroys my micro DT tranny, it'll kill an XMOD and if it bends my dogbones, it'll snap XMOD dogbones. The power of BL(yes the vid is mine):

is that you whole input /\

the way i see it is you have 3 choices
1 retro fit of mini-z/iwaver or micro-t electronics
2 full hobby grade (servo rx esc )
3 hobby grade brushless conversion / micro-t brushless

a brushless will always be faster BUT you will have to gear it accordingly using the same gears as a "normal motor" will not let you get the performance you would expect
B/L motors have emence torque so can be geared much higher than a brushed motor
hope that helps

It all depends on the KV of the BL Motor, what battery you are running and where you run. BL cannot be run indoors at full throttle unless jumping. The 8750kv runs a tad bit slower but also runs cooler. The 10250kv(one I use) runs a tad bit faster and also runs hotter. I run that and a Losi 2S 180mAh Lipo along with Losi's Micro Reciever for brushless use and a Losi, Xcelorin ESC. Brushed I'm not to sure on with Xmod motors but with BL, there is no FET upgrades and work great with LiPo's

ehhh ?
because there is a total esc upgrade . the brushless cannot be run on stock electronics
but from what iv been told the stock micro-t board has an equivalent to a 2x2 stack of evo fets
