Experiment with different value resistors wired in series with the motor.

edit; where are you powering these extra motors from? you could pull from a single or pair of cells instead of from the whole pack.

you could always try a rheostat, which is basically an adjustable resistor.

I would say maybe a servo other wise maybe try some pulley set ups or a small dial to adjust the speed like someone said

I was thinking that but most rheostats would be too big.

i was thinking that someone on another forum used one in place of resistors for the tight turn mod, let me do some looking to see if i can find it.

found it, gearguy on xmf used a rheostat in his car that he put a 270 motor in. he said that he got it at rs, so ill do some looking around at your rs. if there is someone fairly knowledgeable at your rs you should be able to tell them what you want to do and they can hook you up with the right one.

ill give my local rs a call to see if they have any in stock.... if not then ill just have to find a way to use the speed its got and use low gears like doing the servo swap for crawlers.. its gonna be a tough one

you know you can get real small variable resistors that are adjusted by a screw driver they look a little like tach switches and can be board mounted

That would be the ticket, we use them alot at work but i didnt know they came in small scale. Would probably be more durable than a rheostat.

yes, mini pots ftw! there really small about the same size as (my) finger nail...also if you have not already buitl the belt thing, you could just insert a slanted bottom peice into your container, then have a slot for the salt to come out and feed onto a tray that shakes side to side, then you only need one motor...

btw, idk if RS would sell mini pots, look up stores (in your phone book) that sell electronic componants, ask for a mini potentiameter
